'Enlightenment' won't run without 'fwm95'?

#1 Post by pofadda »

d'loaded MU's Enlightenment .pup, installed it and tried to run it outside of X with 'xwin enlightenment'. I failed. Did I spell it wrongly?

Also found out that 'fwm95' as offered when the enlightnment failed isn't really available from Puppy either!

fvwm95 must be installed with pupget first.

Enlightenment:
Try to run it in JWM in a consolewindow.
Simply type
enlightenment
or
startenlightenment
That will display, if you miss a library.

Select the message that appears in the consolewindow with the mouse, then middle-click in a new forum-message to paste it.
Then I can tell you, what must be installed in addition.

Dear MU

Thanks for your response. The error message is:
enlightenment: error while loading shared libraries: libesd.so.0: cannot open sh ared object file: No such file or directory

How do I get it installed?

install this Dotpup:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/li ... 0.2.36.pup

In general, you can check every program like that, if it will not start.
You will find many libraries here:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Libraries/

Does that fix your problem?

[snip]

Many thanks again. I had earlier on dragged myself out of my (local) afternoon torpor and mounted all my partitions, ran 'locate' and found a copy of libesd.0.etc in my Suse distro. Copy and paste to /usr/lib and it worked!

PS: I love the sunset desktop!
