Thanks again pemasu for attending to my questions.
Don't worry too much about the screen recording. gtkrecordMyDesktop didn't do better, either.
But that is really not an important issue in an otherwise very promising Puppy.
I'd still like to find out where to fetch the cpu usage from, and I will continue fiddling with ICE.
Have a great Sunday

wuwei. Well, anyway, I will play with conky compile and conky.conf when I have time. Probably after I have uploaded next kernel version Ice Puppy.

The mesa driver is working great with the card in this pc.
There is still room on the sdhc card for icepuppy 07 when it's ready
Installing a pet from either a usb flash drive or the sdhc card
doesn't seem to work (or I'm not patient enough),installing one from
the hard drive works fine.

Billtoo et al. Thank you of your reports.
Attached is my IcePuppy-007 compiled conky pet with my edited conky.conf. The pet includes only binary and conky.conf. So it needs to be launched in console. You can close the console after launching though. In console: #conky
Install liblua from ppm, otherwise conky wont work.
Desktop capture from Ice Puppy-007.
It is based on kernel 2.6.38.4 with Highmem + PAE and it is optimized for dual cores and newer.
It is already uploaded in smokey01.com ftp site with kernel sources and kernel.pet.
Have fun. I wont update first page today, because I have other hobbies to attend, so I dont have time to check posts frequently.

007 up and running.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a tool that can be run to compare one distro release vs the prior?
Sure would be nice to offer some news that would be a little more objective to Pemasu. He has been a tremendous person to opening our eyes.

Most important is to see how Ice Puppy-007, kernel 2.6.38.4 behaves in different hardware. And also to see how this core 2 and newer optimization works.
Also to see if there is nonworking applications.
I will make next ndiswrapper kernel module.
Billtoo has succesfully compiled and installed nvidia proprietary driver which is important report already.

And, could you and I use the same when we report? My aim is to try to make the information I report as meaningful as possible.
And, I will look also for anomalies in its operation.
Thanks

Don't know how this has happened, but an issue that has arisen with a drive that is used for SWAP has come up with some peculiar errors. On this boot. I cannot say that it is attributed to this release. My feeling is that it is not.
But, I have a FAT32 partition on that drive that has suddenly reported errors

for example, which direction would be best for MBR?
And, what about the other errors....are they related to MBR?

gcmartin. I would fix fat errors using windows tools. Like in windows console: chkdsk /f c: or d: or e: or whatever
If you dont have windows os, download latest hiren bootcd and and launch minixp and there is chkdsk console tool available.
When you write to the fat32 partition from linux, file system errors are possible, especially if you have done forced shutdown.

Hello,
`007....Geez.....maybe tomorrow...
Still on `006, running well, no problems...
Xcompmgr working fine, transparency etc....
Interestingly enough, glxgears...
If the glxgears window is on top, ie highlighted/opaque...3300/3500...
If it is transparent (.6).....2300/2400...
VLC and MPlayer seem unaffected by being transparent...
Neither does Flash video in FF4 ....
PAW had transparency in JWM, but kinda glitchy...
In this version it works very smoothly...
Be back...

Thanks Billtoo, I'll post back soon with same.
Thanks Pemasu. I've got those tools. But, FAT32 has been around since 1998. Could I assume that the messages offered from Linux would be adequate for repair? And, could someone explain which MBR would be more successful solution. Can I assume the backup is a better selection than the primary? Are these items datestamped? Is there a tool displaying datestamp if it exist?
I believe that this problem was caused by my actions. Since, I have had so many problems with Save-sessions, I have stopped (unitl I find a resolution) doing it because it destroy the ability to boot the Live media. So, even though I know better, (and I do), I have been forcing poweroff versus proper shutdowns. So in my haste to reboot the latest 007 after CDRW creation, I believe I caused this problem.
Now, how can I use my Puppy system to get it repaired....hummmm,

gcmartin. I think the error info is reason enough to check the filesystem integrity.
About MBR. I dont have much experience about fixing mbr. I have just installed bootloaders there.
