Webcam Viewer? Is there a guvcview pet available?

#1 Post by mow9902 »

Hi all,

I've been using camstream as my webcam viewer app. It's ok - but lacking some features for controlling the webcam.

I've been searching for something better, and have seen references to guvcview. I've tried finding a .pet for it, and came across this topic:

Unfortunately there are many missing dependencies from this package.

Does anyone know of a full package containing all of the required files - or perhaps an alternate webcam view which works on puppy?

Puppy version in use: 4.2.1
kernel version in use: 2.6.25.16
hardware: logitech quickcam pro for notebooks on IBM T60

thanks

No - I did not see these packages. I will try them over the weekend. Thanks for that.

I tried these packages. Still one dependency missing - libudev.so.0

I've searched with google for this file. I can see references to various rpm packages which apparently include it, but when I download them and use unrpm to view the contents I receive an error.

Any idea where I can get this file from?

no need to post the same question in multiple places on the forum, i'll have a pet up for you in an hour or so when I can get to my computer.
