Request for Wireshark and Ettercap

#1 Post by juantapulan »

Hi I've just recently joined this forum but have been using Puppy for a while now. I like Puppy very much and it has earned a space in my PC's hard drives and flash drives as well.

There's just two things I would like to have on my USB thumb drives those two packages Wireshark and Ettercap (with the GTK gui preferably). I need these for pen testing my networks. I've seen a wireshark pet package but it doesn't seem to work. I was hoping somebody could come up with dotpets of these two. I'm too lazy to roll my own. :)

Great OS and community! Kudos to everyone especially to Barry

p.s. I'm running 4 right now in all my machines and those in the flash drives

Ettercap would be nice, I dont care for the GTK crap tho, never seems to function right, and just adds an uneccsary layer to the app, command line ettercap works fine by itself IMHO, but yes, bring ettercap to puppy plz

Have you searched the Additional Software section of the forum for either one of those?

Hello guys, I'm new here as you can see. I really enjoy Puppy. And this very forum is great indeed.

I've installed Wireshark and works fine. I found the .pet in a thread here.
Well, an Ettercap pet package (yes, preferably with a GUI) would be very useful - does anyone know if there's one?

here's a GTK version I compiled without blue-tooth due to fact I would of had added dbus to Wary, But I did compile this version with static libnet and libpcap.

An updated version of Wireshark will be out later today (1.4.6) as opposed to the 1.4.4 pet that I have out now and will be in sfs form rather than a pet due to size (16M).

Edit: update is out, thread is at http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 892#517892
