MIcromax 351G USB modem with Puppy 511

#1 Post by veejay »

Hai friends,

With Lucid Puppy 511, micromax 351g USB 3g modem, I get the following status. Please can anyone guide me further.

1. USB detected as modem in ttyUSB0.
2. when dail through Pubdial... says voice line detected.

For Information: Stupid mode = 1, Carrier Check = no in wvdial.conf, Vendor ID = 1c9e, Product ID = 9607

Is it any modem driver problem?

thanks & regards
Veejay

Veejay,
I have installed lupu 5.1.1 and see that I have a little more work to do, to make the modem-modprobe package work with 5.1.1 and, hopefully, other lupu 5.x versions. Give me a day or two to update that package. Thanks for suggesting it.

Modem-modprobe fix for Lupus 5.25, 5.20, 5.11 and 5.01!

#3 Post by rerwin »

Veejay,
A few days became a full week of development and testing (again and again). I have posted the result in the usual place: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 074#431074

Note that there is now a "pre-update" package for use before updating a pupsave onto a new puppy remastered from lupu (or other pup) and the "0417" modem-modprobe fix.

Note also that the installation of the modem-modprobe package will start a special version of the remaster script, which will wait until all packages to be installed are complete and then allow remastering with the special cleanup logic that removes residue from previous versions of my work.

Please give it a try. Thanks.
