New kernel 2.6.38.4 for puppy/lupu/quirky/WOOF-BUILDER

I couldnt find ath9k for my wireless connection. But kernel boots. And that is good start.
Edit: ath kernel module folder is missing, so i guess support for whole atheros wlan chipsets was not compiled in kernel.

I have now tested on Lucid Puppy 525 and Wary 511. Neither can find wired connection.

Crazy wild guess. Could the kernels for Puppy be specially made to include more drivers than the source that the OP made use of.

Does not we warn newbies that very modern puppies lack the drivers to the old computers so we recommend them to try out Wary5 instead of Lupu5?

Is the kernel batched with the usual patches Barry Kauler uses:

All aufs patches are probably most important ones.,

By the way, just compiled the kernel as curiosity, and added all missing net device drivers. Also I added hyperthreading and multicore-scheduler and deleted uvent helper path:sbin/hotplug.

yes, I have patched aufs2.1 to this kernel,
by the way, The kernel runs well as livecd/usb/hdd/vm.
now only lack of some old drivers!

Want to know if this a error or a problem with kernel?

I activate the CPU freq scaling tool from wary 511 with the 3.6.38.2 kernel and select the one for my cpu but when check lsmod they activate the one that its for my cpu but add "mpert" that is for other processor.

Here's my report

I tested puppylinux/kernel/wxdz/k2.6.38.2/2.6.38.2.sfs
with Lucid Puppy 5.2 and it worked well
except for the sound and my wacom Bamboo tablet
(the wacom driver didn't install in the right folder apparently).

Retrovol wouldn't launch and alsamixer would launch then disappear.
My chip is the ICH - Intel 82801BA-ICH2

Here is the output of the computer's description.
There's no mention of my audio chip.

My fourth compile with this kernel. I got my wireless, eth0 and webcam working with it.
It should have more wireless drivers enabled. The whole lot of staging drivers.

No quarantee of working expect for me.

yes, some modules for wireless should enabled,

I have no time to upload it,

I have compiled r8168 and third drivers such as some audio drivers. nvidia drivers and so on
