Yup, if you got any other "tools" you want compiled let me know I got a crap-load of em that I use for testing that I've compiled as long as they aren't insanely difficult to put together.

Can't think if any except "ease" which is not a networking app.

See top post for new version of wireshark Version 1.4.6. made it into an SFS this time due to size, old version removed due to bug fixes in newer version.

When I click a "start" button to capture packets from an interface, Wireshark crashes... Anyone that has the same problem? Or knows what's wrong?

I'll check it out and see if something is wrong, did you have any problems with the 1.4.4 pet that I had up before?

I just checked and everything is working fine on my end, could you please tell me what version of puppy you are using and try running wireshark from the command line (type wireshark into the terminal) and let me know if you get any error output.

AngryIP |

@Dpup5520 Thanks for this.
I noticed your offer to help with network tools. I have a utility that I have been using in Windows for over 14 years. Its simple to use, reliable, and just stupidly fast. I see that its available for Linux, but I don't know how to set it up for Puppy PET.
Can you help? AngryIP
Thanks in advance

Ah yes Angry IP, I was actually considering taking a crack at this, im not very familiar with java programs and don't have many in my bag of networking goodies however i'm on vacation right now so I have plenty of spare time, i'll take a try with it over the next day or so and will post it up when/if im able to get it into pet form for puppy.

@gcmartin
So umm as soon as I wrote the above post I realized I said I was on vacation so I can stay up as late as I want and the wife can't say nothing, sooo you can find your Angry IP Scanner here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=518066#518066
I hope this is to your satisfaction and if you need any other help please don't hesitate to ask, putting together these programs for people makes me feel like I am able to at least contribute a little bit to the puppy community and now I have what seems to be a great new tool to add to my bag of goodies.

Umm, only one or two times... But now it happens every time - maybe only on my computer

Thank you |

AngryIP beats the pants off anything I've ever used in Linux or Windows. It is a tremendous contribution for me. I use it all the time as you may expect. Now, I don't have to run a Windows PC to see the networked PCs on the LAN. Thank you very much for this contribution.
One other item that I could use coment on: Is there a tray tool that I can run which when you mouse over it shows current IP and current external (internet) IP. There does NOT seem to be a tool for that.
Further, could the tray tool produce a log showing changes in local/external IP over time..
Thanks in advance for your insights.
