Is there any way to insert the currently-running version number of Fluppy into the icon somewhere?
A manual way like this a lot easier
Here is another option an apple look
I havent made the backgrounds in different colors yet though for this new template

Pigdin Logs

#1703 Post by tlchost »

I am using Fluppy013 on a bootable USB drive. Pidgin logs are taking up more and more space. I moved /root/.purple/logs to /mnt/home/.purple/logs and created a relative link to /root/.purple/logs

When I reboot, the system reports that it can not find/access the log files in /mnt/home/.purple

Any hints? I would rather not turn off the logs, but at some point I will have to do it to keep the save file from getting full.

Thanks
Thom

My son just asked if there is an app to open "7zip" files, whatever those are?

He mumbled something about Microsoft ... yuck ...

Edoc,

I'm not sure about Fluppy's default archiver, but Peazip should handle any format your son throws it's way.

@ edoc

7zip is I think a open source clone of winzip it also does lots of other compressed archives including its own 7zip format. I use it for rar files.
Run it with wine when required

Is this a FAT flashdrive? Symlinks and FAT don't get along very well. A symlink to /initrd/mnt/dev_ro2/.purple might also work better. Not sure what the problem is - just throwing a couple ideas out.

puppyhelp application

#1710 Post by don570 »

I've localized the puppyhelp application so it will
automatically open a HTML file on your hard disk

For example if you are using French, clicking on the
Help Desktop Icon will open a help file that is in French.
Try it.

I've included locals for German, French and Spanish.

It would be nice to have it included in Fluppy.
It also works in Wary and Lucid Puppy.

Download and install these two pets:

puppyhelp-1.0.pet
puppyhelp_NLS-1.0.pet

Compiz, Rox

#1712 Post by yerc1 »

Thanks heaps to Jemimah for introducing me to beryl-compiz!
I think it was with Fluppy 08 that i tried beryl for the first time.
Although I soon reverted to icewm, i would revisit beryl to experiment with what it has to offer.

I've done a new usb frugal install of Fluppy 13 with compiz and likes the default Rox panel instead of Cairo dock. If i want to change to Cairo dock and back to Rox panel, the Cairo dock switcher comes very handy - how easy is that? My compliments to Jemimah for keeping us users in mind...

I did find out that Compiz has changed the desktop right click menu. Gone are the Applications menu and in its place looks like the rox filer menu(?) This behaviour is preserved even when changing to icewm/openbox/flwm. I've looked at forum for compiz and rox in search of a solution but could not find a similar question asked.

Could somebody tell me how to get the Applications menu back?

It's a setting in the ROX options. Go to Compatibility and check "Pass backdrop mouse clicks to the window manager".

Neither ALT+F4 nor CTRL+ALT+F4 closes a window in my beloved Fluppy 013.
Bug or feature?.

Here's the latest Midori.
http://puppeee.com/files/misc/midori-update/

You need to install all 4 pets. You should probably restart X immediately after installing due to the glib update.

I think this one's a real winner!

This package is for updating Fluppy13 only.

Ctrl-Alt-F4 is supposed to work. You can modify it by editing the IceWM config file. The line to modify is

Code: Select all

KeyWinClose="Ctrl+Alt+F4"

If you go to http://webcamplaza.net Parole generates an error about plugins.

Could that be related to the other updates to Midori?

I did not get these errors before.
