In fontforge..

Save your handwriting as a gif. Fontforge can open those. Trace it! Remember, 1 way then the reverse way or else your 'o' s and such will be solid! Look in ttuuxxx' .ca or .asia repo for fontforge or look in eyecandy>>fonts for a link I posted :wink:

Bonjour,
Could somebody give the exact explanation of the words in the configuration file 'Jwm_colors' below :

Code: Select all

#see /usr/local/jwmconfig2/theme-switcher script.
MENU_BG='#xxxxxx'
ACTIVE_BG='#xxxxxx'
FOREGROUND='#xxxxxx'
PAGER_BG='#xxxxxx'
FG_SELECTED='#xxxxxx'
MENU_BG (is it the equivalent of <MenuStyle>...<Background>... of the file jwmrc-theme ?)
ACTIVE_BG (active background of what ?)
FOREGROUND (foreground of what ?)
PAGER_BG (is it the equivalent of <PagerStyle>...<Background>... of the file jwmrc-theme ?)
FG_SELECTED (foreground of what ?)

Thanks a lot, even it is not the best place to ask this question... :oops:

Theme Maker

#66 Post by wuwei »

Great toy, trio!

Just a wonderful idea and a great service, thank you.

I am just wondering if you could add a procedure to load an existing theme into the Theme Maker Gui, thereby making it possible to modify and alter that existing theme. Or is that already built in and I just couldn't find it?

No, it isn't there already. It is doable, but does it worth the effort? Creating new ones, will only take you 2-3 minutes.

I got to agree on that one, when I first tried this app, it worked great, I then wanted to change one of the colours for the menu, and well I then found out I would have to manually open the theme I made find all the colours I did use, start over and add them all again. at that point I didn't find it all that useful, so I went back to manually doing it.
But if you did add theme editing capabilities that would really improve it and would save all the time to manually build them.
I could see this app being really useful to newbee's etc, but for people like myself who have to have things just right, without a editing feature its just not there yet. I sometimes re-edit my themes like 20+++ times before I'm happy, Icewm was more like 50+, lol those little "puppy paws _-X " took for ages, but for jwm this is a great start.

@Argolance
..that colors file is a puzzler (since actual theme colors can all be fairly well-defined in the main theme, I never really found it to be a true necessity for the theme itself). My guess is that a few scripts take cues from it and the terms are more-or-less abstract relations.

yep, those paws getting mileage out of all that hard work still, t' ;)

Hi trio

just thought to check back with you.

An edit function in theme maker would be really great. Not for making a new one, but for fine tuning an existing one.
I find it terribly inconvenient to enter all the values again, just to change one or two colors e.g. in an already existing theme.

So, if it is not too much trouble and effort...how about adding a function to load existing themes and edit them?

Thanks

Sorry trio, I also hate that, when it takes hours to build something and nobody responds :shock: Anyways I tested it and it worked great.
Excellent job

jwmthememaker-1.5.pet will be included to the Snow Puppy-015. I have already replaced the previous one with this one in my woof platform.

Also your pets2sfsgui is already in Snow Puppy-014. I included also your Desktop-Display-Profile and GTK theme maker to the Snow Puppy-015. You2pup 2.12 is also included already.
So your great apps have already a life at least in on derivative :)

Cheers.

Super improvement trio.

I installed the pet in Luci 253 over the existing version 1.4. Works perfectly and it was worth the wait.

The "Instant Apply Theme" feature does not work for me after I create my own theme, and I am unable to change the theme at all it seems.

Do I have to reboot to see the effects or is something else wrong?

@ eriksatie

Did you use version 1.5 from page 5 of this thread? Or the one from page 1?

There is a big difference!

Check if you have version 1.4 or 1.5.

If not 1.5 or later, do reinstall the pet from the previous page. It should make a difference.
