And I say do not do so.

What is it....the Whirlpool forum?

Now I just booted up his creation on USB.

Not for me but looks nice.
All the more reason to punish him 4 being like a kiddie who wants his bags of
marbles back.

And don't let him come back with his default name.

No bans but I suggest....that he can't come back as > l0t3ch

because he has shown what he is capable of....ruining everyones pleasure.

He should not come back officially for 30 days.
So he can cool off.

And when he comes back and wants to post any Puplet...etc
they should be backed up somewhere else...as a precaution.

Should he apologise.....No...most of us lose the plot.
But stay away from the mirror....it's not a nice look.

But I have to say that >> l0t3ch >>> you need serious help.

I know 10wt3ch worked his arse off building Puppy Studio and it is a fine piece of work
Sometimes we are taken for granted
That is not a nice feeling.
Sometimes we are badly done by.
Not nice at all.

For times like this we have Bugman (official Puppy scapegoat)
It is his fault and his cats are probably not so innocent either . . .

If so, then the author can claim rights to have his/her name inside the software and not much more as far as I know. So upload away Puppians.
As the creator of PuppyStudio, I insist that no-one upload that iso.
Tall order there, as this was built of the shoulders of other open source contributors...or am I wrong.

New and better cars are designed on the shoulders of Fred Flintstone,
who at least gave us the wheel, and axles, (brakes came later) so a complex linux distribution, can be as distinctive as a Ferrari, and bare the name which the builder chooses, and if it's faster, better, or more useful, history will let credit rest where it's due.
Cheers

Those looking to do basic recording with great ease, can install
Aqualung from it's .deb, and also Timemachine, load for example a rythym track in aqualung, and set up whatever accompaniment instruments desired.

Aqualung auto-connects to jackd, timemachine and your chosen instruments require their normal connections in qjackctl.

Hit the timemachine record button, then the play button in aqualung, and off you go.
This post was built on the ankles of...shucks, I can't even remember!

O.K. This pile of crap sucks big time.

1°/ As mentioned anyone can build another pupplet with all the soft that was included in "Studio".

2°/ GPL license implies that: freely you receive, freely you give.
I can't imagine Linus TORVALD throwing a temper tantrum, and wanting everybody to stop using Linux.

3°/ If you join a community, it is with the goal to make a contribution.

4°/ Lowtech was definitely not low profile, I've never read so many superlatives about someone's own work before. The ultimate best of the cream, etc...

5°/ You are wrong about face book, try to withdraw something you posted there, and hear Zückerberg laughing loud...

6°/ I really like the HItler Puppy avatar, so cute. ;-)

7°/ Grow up and get over it !

8°/ Last but not least, it is true, you did a great job, but some members contributed to it with testing and bugs reports.

So, smoke a few joints, have a few beers, and meditate on the similitudes between Linux GPL and the Hyppie movement....

PEACE ! AND LOVE !
Don't poop it down... Pup it Up !

:D Hello,
As the creator of a "specialized" puplet myself, I gotta chime in here, before this thread gets locked...

When I made PAW, we didnt have the access to the ,butu repos like we do now..
But, truth be told, if you think you can just D/L the stuff, and `viola, it all works together...you have no clue.. The average puplet is generally a "cosmetic" release..ie a WM change, a "control panel" added, a specific browser, a background....All easy to duplicate, and especially so now...

But a "specialized" puplet is quite different.. I have not, as of yet, used PuppyStudio...( I am a regular user of Pupitup, and install it on all my boxes.. :D Nice work EZ...)...But building PAW was no small chore...Getting python, wxpython, Phatch, RawStudio, Gimp etc to work and be stable together, not to mention dozens of links, menu icons, etc.., took months...I can assume that audio and graphics share similar complications, getting jack, alsa, and the sound card to work together, libs and kernel modules, etc....So I, more than most, appreciate the effort that releases like Pupitup, Mediapup, PAW, and yes, Puppystudio require...

That said, and bearing in mind that I havent seen the posts that prompted your reaction, umm, dude take it easy...This is Linux.. The notion that you would ask that no-one have access to your work goes against the whole idea of "open" source...
As I said, I have not yet tried Puppystudio, (although I am ATM D/L the 3.3 vanilla, and will test it well..) but did see the announcement hype...You seem to believe it is the greatest thing since beer, and I am certainly willing to find out...Isnt that what it is all about...But to say that this community, and this forum`s members, are "unworthy" of it....well...Pisses me OFF...This community, and this forum, are what made "Your" work possible...
Tell you what...Take out all references to "Puppy", logos, icons, any scripts gpl`d to any community member, all of BarryK`s bootcode......everything from everyone "not worthy", and see what you have left...........
If you wanna be "The Lone Ranger" then get LFS, compile your own kernel, and everything else, and go it alone...Like I said, I truly appreciate the effort than can go into this stuff...And if it is half as good as it was promoted to be, than it would be an asset to this "unworthy" community...Isnt that what you intended in the first place...
So someone said something about your work, or you personally, and you are angry...OK...
But dont get all Army and punish the whole platoon...
Like I said, I am D/L 3.3 vanilla and would like to check it out....
But say the word, and I will delete it, and any interest I ever had in it...

Jay...

###EDIT###
The above was written before I read your attack on EZ...
Your release may well be the greatest thing ever...
It may be 5 times better than Pupitup, Ubuntu Studio, and Musix together...
And you may be Linus Torvald, Richard Stallman, and DeviantArt all rolled into one..
I will never know...D/L stopped and removed...
Personal attacks, especially the childish "you suck" schoolyard shit above, are "unworthy" of our forum...
Take your ball, and your Napoleon complex, and go home...
Arrogant ass..........................................

You sound like a spoiled 12 year old. Not an opinion, objective reality.

"Does not play well with others."
"Does not share."

You parents must be very proud. :D

puppyluvr wrote::D Hello...
well said, sir, and enjoy that download - just don't believe the hype. i'm not knocking lowtech nor the hard work he so obviously put into puppystudio, but it is basically a puplet with a realtime kernel and some useful (to some) apps. which i'm sure works beautifully on his hardware - it should as he built it for himself. but to then 'release' it as entirely his own work and accompanying fanfare whilst mostly ignoring any 'user' *ahem* comments or telling them to 'buy a better computer' or 'learn linux' is quite telling. as is going on so much about how it runs in ram blah, blah, blah and then filling said ram with unnecessary widgets, eye candy and sound effects. his attitude left a lot to be desired, in my humble opinion.

lowtech: chill out. take a break. hopefully you'll return under a different user name and persona. people are not having a go. simply trying to make the world a slightly better place. your presence is not required but it would be lovely if you tagged along for the ride.
