E35M1-M PRO

#1 Post by jniffen »

I've always been impress on the number of systems I'm able to boot with Puppy. If the present one I'm using doesn't work on a new PC, the next Puppy will.

Well, I broke my stance of not leading the trail by purchasing an
E35M1-M PRO.

Puppy 5.1 and 5.2 booted fine, after changing the settings in the bios so the USB wasn't recognized as a EFI-USB.

Video and Network was found but I can't get the sound to work.
It appears that Puppy is finding the HDMI or SPDIF audio, but not the ALC887-VD2 High Definition 8-Channel Audio (3jacks).

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I'm eventually planning to make this a new MythTV (LinHES 6.0) down the road, but I think Puppy should come first.

I should also add, the video is working, but it appears not to be utilizing the on board GPU for better performance. While running a yioutube video the CPU usage was in the 30% to 50%.

Any feedback or suggestions on where to go would be appreciated.

Thanks
