i have downloaded, copied, unpacked, extracted all sorts of gtk themes packages .pet but can't figure out how to get the themes working... some say /root/.jtk but there is no directory etc... or broken links ... please please help me

Hi batlinbob,

There are many helpful forum members, but it is better to use a meaningful title and to give some background such as which Puppy you are using.

Help is not always lightning quick, but it usually happens.

My regards

go to /usr/share/themes

Make new gtk-themes of your own .... see:

Themes for Gtk? JWM? OpenBox?
Gtk and OpenBox themes path is /usr/share/themes (using a dir for each one).
You should copy the theme folder into that path if its for Gtk or OpenBox.
The JWM issue its different, the path is: /root/.jwm/themes (note the "." which make it 'hide') and NO directory its used -check the installed ones-. If you put a new theme there (and if its working), you should see it on the 'JWM configuration'.

Regards.
