Thanks f00, I have so many puppies that works now so I have started to learn TCL TinyCoreLinux just to feel intimidated again having no clue even to get anything to work :)

Sorry should not derail this thread. Good luck with next Mac
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Not to rain on your parade puppyluvr, but.....that list is alphabetical..

Still cool that they've included Macpup though....it's becoming better-known all the time as a distro in its own right....rock on, runtt :D

Foo , I had to make sure all the edje stuff works. It is almost ready. Now that we have other distributions out to "get us" we need to put a little more tlc into a new pup. One of the things I want for this new one is that it will be up-datable. Since efl is now the official release status I can keep the back end the same and just update the core e17 components. This will be a big change for macpup .We have always built a new one instead of updating. We will see how it goes.

It will be a little while longer,I have to get the .iso to prit1. Uploading is his job.Just hang on. I have built 3 RC version this week and I am really happy with the third version. If it doesn't poop on me by monday  , It gets the nod. :D It's only 174 mb right now 14 mb lighter than MP511 And it is less than half the size of that other Distro(394 mb) .It has 4 themes plus Firefox 4 beta 11. Even though we are not calling it Foxy 4.0 , That's what it is. :D

I have updated the three themes that are included in MP511 ,added their own boot splashes. I know the A-Special-Macpup theme has been very popular. They will be available for 520 as a .pet.

quick pet and pet manager broken

#256 Post by phodges »

great work gentlemen this is a great pup. i still have foxye17 and buddapup running on usb also.

i was able to get a few things with quick pet, but after updating i get 'quickpet does not support your version'. it opens but will not download or install.

and i cannot get anything from repositories, when i test the url's i get 'recursion is disabled'

any suggestions?

The new version of quickpet is set up to be used with different types of puppy. It checks to see if you are running lupu or spup etc. But The new version wont accept "macpup" The version I have in the new pup is set up to work with macpup. 01micko made it form me. You can try it in 511 to see if it works. It runs great in 520.

i think i updated the wrong version allright, and that killed quickpet. i will try uninstalling that update pet. if that does not get it working again, i will try the custom fix.

still no word on ''recursion is disabled", and i have searched.

i can always just look for http downloads of the few things i want to get going, or just start with a new iso.

i collected up all your themes, and can use them on other installs as well...again great job putting this together, and of course agust's themes are awesome.

macpup 520

i finally made it through this whole thread....instead of tweaking 511, should i just wait for 520? sounds like you are close to a release.
