Xcas.sfs is re-uploaded with the correct libs inside. It will now run without any dependency on devx.jamesbond wrote:Thanks Roy. When I have time I'll examine xcas dependency again and include them in the xcas.sfs so that in the future you don't have to go through these hoops again - it should be just plug and go.

elinks is available from repo.
NtEd looks interesting. Will look at it. Anyway if you get the audio.sfs, it has Rosegarden, it also has music sheet editor inside.
gexec - You can always type "start32 xxxx" to start application xxxxx as 32-bit application. Note - usage of 32-bit application is not recommended, use it as last resort only. Use / get 64-bit native application if possible.

question to the developers of fatdog
hi
I have a question to the developers of fatdog. for diverse and frequent purposes it would be important to have a very little and smart 64 bit system
fatdog were extra loaded with more software as usual (gimp and dependances, handbrake, kino, a big browser, a separate email client, an important instant messenger, two editors, two window managers and commutations help, etc.)
a. what are the chances in next future to get somewhat like a new-born-puppy64 with only one application per purpose and nothing for of course interesting but special purposes?
b. if no chance, can we get a approx. list of packages pre installed in fatdog but possibly only optional in case of tentative of rebuild with woof being to ‘erase’ in the PKGS_SPECS_TABLE (I suppose that this guide is also operable for fatdog64?)
c. as well as indications to avoid the reinstallation of spot, users and root password to have the most usual file system possible and environment in puppy?
salut

I thought I've uploaded it to the repo, but apparent I haven't. These are contributed packages from Billtoo (along with mc, htop and a few others). They are also available from Fatdog 510 thread - I'll upload them to the repo as soon as I can.
As for your other question, I'll let kirk answer it
cheers!

Fatdog64-511
I installed fatdog 511 to another pc with an nvidia graphics card in it, I installed the nvidia pet in the repo first and also managed to upgrade it to the newest NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.36.run driver (49 mb).

dpkg
dpkg
Hi
I would like to try that:
http://packages.deb.at/squeeze/dfsbuild
it is necessary to install also that
libgmp3c2_4.3.2+dfsg-1_amd64.deb
dfsbuild starts willing if you give as required the configuration file and the destination's dir.
but it claims immediately ‘dpkg not found’
did some one install dpkg on fatdog from Debian repos.?
dpkg has a really heavy list of dependences and dependences from dependences.
what is really needed over the contained stuff in fatdog (I suppose that fatdog has a lot of those dependences preinstalled!)?
bye

how to start and bind a *sfs manually as start option?

Yes, I made a vlc-1.1.7-x86_64.pet 12mb and a vlc_DEV-1.1.7-x86_64.pet 148k, also a qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.7.1-x86_64.pet 40mb and ajamesbond wrote:Thanks Billtoo. qt-everywhere-opensource-src_DEV-4.7.1-x86_64.pet 1845k.
I'm not sure if the vlc pet will work with the version of qt4 in the repo.

- Is your work available for FATDOG consumption?
- If so, how do we get to it?
- Considering that there seems to be a user AND a development version, how should installation progress with these 4 individuals?
Netboot in Repo?
Thanks Everyone for such a great-great contributions to the 64bit version.
It is humbling to see how this version of a RAM based system is maturing. I cannot express my thanks enough to all of this great contribution.
Couple of things to help. I opened my PPM, configured, updated, closed and reopened the PPM.
NETBOOT
The only Netboot version I see is version 2. Should the "-3" version be shown instead?
PWIDGETS
I see the recent addition in the PPM, but I did not find xonclock-0.0.9.2-pe-1-amd64.pet or conky-1.6.1-pe-1-amd64.pet.
01Miko installation instruction indicates a reliance on these 2 PETs to accompany the recent addition to the PPM of pwidgets_amd64-2.3.3.pet. Were the 2 mentioned PETs combined into the pwidget's PET?
Note: This plus the use of PDiag and HInfo, I should now be able to have a full picture of the active running of my FATDOG system. Thanks again, EVERYONE!
Hope this helps

I uploaded those pets to jamesbond, I don't know if they'll make the fatdog repo or not. Maybe you could pm him.gcmartin wrote:@BilltooBilltoo wrote: ... Yes, I made a vlc-1.1.7-x86_64.pet 12mb and a vlc_DEV-1.1.7-x86_64.pet 148k, also a qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.7.1-x86_64.pet 40mb and a

Appears, there were 2 ways to interpret his post. Oh well, Murphy's Law still works!. PPM is currently correct for this.01micko's PM wrote: ... The single pwidgets-amd64 package contains all dependencies ...
So, disregard this particular entry on that post. Thanks

Updated audio.sfs.
Changes - removed jacker, added lmms (no VST compatibility though).
Updated 32bit-lib.sfs.
Changes - added libSDL and libGL
Corrected netboot-server - it shows version 3 now.
Thanks gcmartin.
cheers!

gcmartin,
For the time being Billltoo's VLC is available at mydrive.ch, in fatdog64 folder.
Username = *dotpet@puppy*share*
Password = *puppy*linux*
(remove the asterisks).
I haven't got the chance to test it out yet - when I do, I will probably re-package it as an SFS (due to the size) and upload it to the repo. I don't think you need the _DEV or the _DOC package.
Thanks Billtoo.

The only files needed to run vlc are:
qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.7.1-x86_64.pet
vlc-1.1.7-x86_64.pet
Quick question:
Where and how do I set CUPS permissions for both Spot and Root to print? ATM I can print from Spot, but not from anywhere else. (Did I change anything or is this the default?)
Running Fatdog64 with Jemimah's Frisbee internet interface program on the home desktop and loving it.... (I see Jemimah has updated her latest Frisbee in Fluppy013.)
