Nobody was able to use CanoScan N640P?

#1 Post by Spaccafumo »

Is it really impossible to make CanoScan N640P work in Puppy?
What scanner in this world (parallel or usb) works?

Go to /etc/sane.d and open the file dll.conf.

Uncomment the line canon_pp.

Try Xsane again.

I found the backend. Four windows on the desktop. None of them works.
Below some screens.

Your second image shows that SANE has correctly detected the scanner.

1. Check your BIOS. The parallel port needs to be in ECP mode.

2. See the discussion here about the "force-nibble" option.

3. Maybe after sitting in your cellar for two years, the scanner doesn't work any more.

Based on a IT manager in a movie called office space he repeats what others said .... then piles on more work..

classic IT movie and very close to how IT is done in Austin TX where/when its was filmed..

Also worked with the directors sister... in San Antonio
