I'm trying to book Puppy from a CD for the first time. I downloaded the image puppy-1.0.8r1-mozilla and burnt it onto a CD-R. I booted my Windows PC from this CD and Puppy began to load OK. It gives 5 options for the boot but the same error follows whichever I pick.
Lots of stuff loads and apparently good things happen until I get the "Cannot find usr.cram.fs" error. It invites me to hit enter and then goes through the rest of the boot sequence but as it hasn't gor this file it just gives me a command line Linux. The usr.cram.fs file IS on the CD I burnt.
I'm far too old and new at this to cope with this and really jsut wanted the GUI that would lead me through to a nice USB bootable device but I'm hung up with this problem. Any ideas?
Cannot find usr.cram.fs
You might get a running Puppy like this:
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=5117
Then you can try to use it to create a bootable USB-puppy with the supplied tools.
If that fails, ask again, as some people created addons that can help in such cases.
