Hello, vpup :)!
Welcome to the forum!

And congratulations to your release of vPup 1.0 :).

There are a lot of pup-heads hanging around this forum that try most and every puplet/wooflet that is released (me (half-)included) :) . I am certain that you would get many, many more presumptive testers to actually try your creation out if you'd publish your full release announcement here (or at least link to it).

As it stands now, you've posted an invitation to download and test a completely unknown OS - what kernel, is it a remastered puppy (based on what), a wooflet (symbiotic with which distribution), a puppy for firewalls (taking a hint from your avatar) :?: :?: :?:
I apologise if my response is perceived as quenching your enthusiasm of (finally?) having finalised your puppy to release quality. My main intention is merely to point out that a post with an included release announcement would much easier percolate through the (perforated) habitual tin-foil hats of, at least, this pup-head.

Cheers :)/

I downloaded and did a frugal install of vPup and right off, I had errors.
It seems the background that it tries to find when booting with pfix=ram does not exist in the directory (root) that it is looking for.
As a result, I got a white desktop with white icons.
And from my quick once over, it just seems like lupu 511 with the ice desktop manager, some renamed desktop icons, and a vista type background in the background directory.
I honestly expected more.

The inclusion of VirtualBox only increased the size of the iso and could have been offered as a download.
Instead, I would have included Wine.

Why "Vista"?

MS admitted its failure.

Why not Win 7? At least it's the latest.

If the puppy looks like Vista, then why there isn't any screenshots to "compare"

No technical change is claimed, then showing the look is absolutely necessary for anyone attempting downloading and installing.

Some people actually live in real prehistoric country in terms of the internet where downloading takes forever. AND CHINESE government want to keep it that way (think Egypt)

No Facebook No twitter here.

And downloading speed of 2~5KB/sec for the most people here.

So it is absolutely necessary for us to see some screenshots B4 downloading.

Why don't moderators make it a rule to post screenshots for every announcement?

@vpup- I don't think Puppyiso was complaining about YOUR bandwidth, but explaining that many people are restricted to dialup speeds, either by economics or government policy, and would therefore be reluctant to spend hours downloading something about which they know very little.
