Edit Feb 10 I made more changes to wording to
be consistent with Shinobar. I'm now quite happy with the result.
Edit: Feb 3 I made a new version . 'Onyx' is the default theme
that openbox uses. I changed a lot of the wording.
Openbox is an excellent window manager but
if you wish to switch to the JWM window manager,
there is an application at the menu for this. (WM Switch)
However I find that JWM requires a trick to see the Spanish menus.
Type this in the terminal.
Code: Select all
fixmenus
jwm -restart
Edit : jan31 : I made improvements so that
the menus are now nearly completely in Spanish.
As well a couple more applications now have Spanish menus.
Please test and report errors. I don't know Spanish
so there are lots of grammatical errors. Send me a list !!

Hispanic speakers will enjoy this version of puppy
even though it is not 100 % Spanish by any means.
Installation Procedure:
First install Lucid Puppy 5.2 (preferably a frugal installation
although running from a CD is also possible).
Note make sure that you have chosen Spanish (espagnol) as your language.
The keyboard layout you choose is not important.
You will be asked to restart X-Server. Do this.
Then download and install the espagnol language pack by Shinobar
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... pq-0.2.pet
Next step is to install a pet package that I made called
Espagnol-Right-click-4.3.pet (old version jan 31)
Espagnol-Right-click-4.4.pet (new version feb3)
Espagnol-Right-click-4.5.pet (new version feb 10)
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-0003cc98.html
As an option, if you want Abiword to do spell checking, try this
pet package called abispell
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-e43fab4f.html
Now you must restart X-server again to see the results.
Many applications will now show Spanish menus.
The spell checker requires the user to change the
spell checking from English to Spanish from the Abiword menu
(located under the Abiword spell checker menu item)
Rox-Filer will allow you to make files and
folders with Spanish accented characters.
Here are some other applications I recommend.
Imagination (which makes flash videos from images and a soundfile

Gimp paint program (an SFS for easy installation)

Audacity sound editor (version 1.3.12)

The latest mtPaint (version 3.34.67) and mhwaveedit 1.4.21

To cut mp3 files read my tutorial

If you want to return to English as your language you can...
follow
Setup > Setup Puppy > Personalize-Settings
However some right-click menu items will remain in Spanish permanently.
People involved in programming should go into
Abiword's Preferences and untick the feature 'Smart Quotes'
Mouse/Keyboard Wizard allows the user a wider
selection of keyboard characters.
This is called in English 'Third Level Chooser'
It's hidden deep in puppy.
