Hi again puppyluvr,
It can be seen from the screenshot below that I am experimenting with the latest versions of Fluppy, Lupu and Wary.
The first four dated files are all Wary changes saved to the DVD, but as I didn't manage to put them in the Wary directory - I cannot also meaningfully save any changes to Fluppy and/or Lupu to the DVD.
The last save file is a failed experiment when I additionally burned it to the DVD durect from my hard drive.
------------------
If it's not too much of a pain, it would be interesting to know how you see the simplest ways to get the most out of your program - I can do almost everthing I need by deleting pfix=ram or adding pfix=copy to load and save changes from and to my hard drive partitions.
I haven't really understood the purpose of the pet and sfs directories or the use of some people names as well as Puppy versions in your screenshots.
My regards

Hello,
@Sir Jasper,
The pet and sfs directories are for portability..Say you want to use the CD/DVD to install a Puppy on a machine w/o internet, (or just want to avoid D/L time)..and want to install OpenOffice, Firefox, or whatever.. Carry your favorite Puppies, and your favorite pets and sfs files as well.. It was a requested feature...Great accessible backup for them as well.. 10 Pups, 100 pets, 10 sfs`s, etc...
And, those are not "peoples names" in my screenshots, they are custom ISO`s I have made for people...Naming their Puppy after them just helps me keep track...

Huh, weird.
I was actually working on a similar project with BaCon, I even chose the same name.
I never got very far with mine, though, only an unfinished GUI.
Oh well, good job.
I'll download yours and give it a try

i thought i read that somewhere at the top of the thread,

I have made a splash (proper name is a gfxboot message ) especially for you.
It's not exactly ClipArt, but i hope it will do.
Just unpack it and copy the file Multipup into the directory MultiPup/boot/grub,
then when you run the MultiPup CD/DVD Creator application, skip choosing a Bootsplash.
Below is a screenshot of what it looks like.

Hello,
@Max,
Sorry, I missed the question in your subject line...

Tested both ways, (relative/absolute) both seemed to work fine, so I took it out...
@ Anybody testing the install part yet??

Good Day All
puppyluvr;
Generated the Multipuppet, should the the old Multipupv6 be deleted before install of the new pet?
The last dvd I created "last screenshot" is giving intermittent boot error boot device not found? May be my hardware? However there seems to be no problems with cd's in the same drive.
Saw a post by swiatmar yesterday in the lucid puppy 520 thread could be related?
Remaster interest me as well, as dose multi session!
520 and pburn is what I used to create the image.
Will continue testing on other pc's as I have time!
A Great Day To All!

Hello,
@Lookinglass360,

NO...
@Bob, the pet just creates the proper links and files to point to where you put MultiPup and run it from the menu., thats all...
Just an "ease of use" thing..You must still have the Multipup directory for the program to run...The pet is specific to the location...If you move Multipup, you must generate a new pet to "install" it to the menu from there.....

Hello,
IDK if anyone is interested, but if you have the grub gfx bootsplash ..you might enjoy it...
It is called Splashshow...
What it does is every time you reboot, (Edit...The Puppy you ran it on..) your grub bootsplash will randomly cycle thru 25 splash images...
Run it on all your installed Puppies and every time you reboot from one , you get a new splash...
Its 10mb, in a tarball...
Anyone???
Also, I am making a few "alien" ISO`s for MultiPup...
So far just Tinycore...
I`ll U/L some stuff later....
Its late...

Gee whillikers, Jay.....not long d/led v.6 and you're at v7 now already
How's a poor tail-wagger supposed to keep up??
But i seriously applaud your (and CatDude's) efforts, and the version 7 GUI looks great Thanks for a fantastic app, i think it'll be well-used around the kennels to the point of wearing out
@ Max Headroom… ha, Fred Dagg... i remember when the Johns, (Banas and Clarke), were a comedy duo over there in sheep'n'gumboot country - those guys are legendary, imho..
Puppyluvr, sorry about OT bit of hijacking....the devil made me do it because of those gumboots

MultiPup CD/DVD Creator Subject description: Plus! |

Hello Again!
puppyluvr;
Just d/l v7. Thank you!
I was not able to get working from pet in v6. Could open from menu set the iso's pets + sfs's but it just stalled at create Multipup.iso. I may be just missing something
Up to v5 I got a good md5sum on CD + DVD 2 of 3 DVD's that I burned it was the the 3rd one that gave the boot device error in my previous post.
The DVD burner will no longer read the disks already burned or see a new disk! So guess it's dead in the water... It was old but the only one I have
However the same drive still seems to burn Cd's just fine,go figure
Moved on to v6 after installing and uninstalling the pet two or three times on each pc deleted all and started over running from mnt home as before.
Created two Multipup.iso's on the DVD pc burned the first one to CD-RW md5sum did not match checked twice got the same numbers, burned another
copy of same to CD-R it returned the very same numbers as the CD-RW
Both copy's seem to ride and drive just fine! This was the case with the other pc with CD drive also.
I miss being able to right click on folders after iso's, pets or sfs have been added to check size, or again I have missed something! Is my newbie showing again
I'll try to find a DVD drive and get that going again.
Thanks for all the time and effort you are putting in to make this a really
Great and useful pet!
Thanks CatDude; aka "The Candy man"
Thanks to All that make this the Wonderful community it is!
I will look at v7 later today.
Bob

Hello,
Version 7b
Corrected script problem that caused failure at "Create your ISO image"
Should run better from menu...
D/L to same location, existing menu entry should work now...
Now runs on Afterstep, will test other xfce / metacity next..
Please test....
@Edit: Tested on wNOP w/xfce and compiz..
Works but Thunar leaves directories open...
Tested on 214x w/metacity...
Fails due to 214x not having /usr/sbin/filemnt...
Looking for workaround....
