Keyboard suddenly stopped working |
|
This is a total mystery to me!
I'm running Lucid Puppy with xfce4 and wbar, a combination I really like btw.
Everything is going fine except for some intermittent probs with the sound card.
Now when I boot up, the keyboard doesn't work in X at all. It had been working fine. Nownothing, not even in a console. However if x hasn't been started, I can still type 'xwin' to make it go, and then x starts, but no keyboard input. I have tried rerunning xorg setup and it has made no difference.
Many thanks for any help
Jonathan
ps I seem to have to two gettys running in task manager, don't know if this is relevant

Do you have another keyboard that you could try?
(Check the connections on the current one first.)

The keyboard works fine in XP (it is dual boot machine, I'm using the keyboard here), it is a Toshiba laptop. Key board also works fine in Puppy before x has started up, it just doesn't work when x is running.
Cheers
Jon

How do you have Puppy installed?
(examples: frugal, full, running from CD, etc.)
Perhaps you can try running in RAM only (puppy pfix=ram in boot menu) to see if the problem persists.
