Yay, kernel 2.6.36.1 and 2.6.32.26 are out ... and Aufs for 2.6.36.x is finally ready! 
At the moment I started working on a 2.6.36.1 kernel for Insidious Puppy. If it doesn't work well, I'll compile 2.6.32.26. I want to try both and see which one is better.
This thing looks really really good and I think it's time to upload Insidious Puppy 001. I want it to have Iceweasel and Sylpheed and just the DejaVu fonts to save some precious ISO size. Fonts are huge.
EDIT: I'm working on 2.6.32.26, I want to make an "ultimate" kernel with wireless-compat - a rock-solid 2.6.32.x with modem drivers, ndiswrapper and the latest wireless drivers.

I have downloaded this one and will give it a try ... after I UN-load the incomplete one via Puppy Package Manager.

Now I want to build a first Insidious Puppy with this kernel and compile third-party drivers. Basically, it's possible to do this while running another kernel but some drivers do blind assumptions according to the kernel they compile on and I don't want to take any risks that can be avoided.
So ... what I need in order to release Insidious Puppy 001 (or 5.0, haven't decided yet) is:
- Modem drivers (separate PETs, one for each driver)
- ndiswrapper (separate PET)
- nvidia drivers (my vision is all three drivers but the latest one should be enough, I still need to learn how to make nvidia PETs)
- Any other useful third-party drivers
- Testing!
The list is quite long in terms of work to do, but it won't take very long. I'm going to be busy on this week but I'm going to quit my job on Tuesday, so I want to make a good use of the next week. I'll compile the modem drivers and ndiswrapper first, probably within 1-3 days.

At the moment I'm building another Puppy, this time with the new kernel. I want to boot this thing to test the multimedia stack and compile all the third-party drivers. This one also has Iceweasel with DownThemAll and FlashBlock

Uploaded a "release candidate", it's here. The directory also has the nvidia driver.
Now I'm working on more stuff:

- Removed the first-run wizard because the new one from Woof is good
- Small cosmetic changes and minor fixes
The modifications done to Woof are:
- DISTRO_SPECS, DISTRO_PKGS_SPECS-debian-sid, DISTRO_COMPAT_REPOS-debian-sid
- /root/.gtkrc-2.0, the default font is set to DejaVu Sans 12
- /root/Xdefaults, I removed the quotes around "white smoke" in the last line as suggested by upnorth
- The package templates I made
- Insidious Puppy requires the ntfs-3g and ghostscript templates to be deleted
- The deb2ppm I wrote is used to convert Debian package lists into PPM ones instead of the slow Bash code Barry wrote
- The removedup script I wrote (which removes duplicate entries for the same package) needs go over Packages-debian-sid-main and Packages-puppy-sid-multimedia-main so ffmpeg and mplayer are found only on the latter.
I wait for the next Woof so I can do a straight build of this thing ... it looks good. Time to go gold

It loaded easily and runs quickly.
No problems with video-drivers or wireless on my Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 -- a real problem with several of the other newer Puppies.
Is there an E-mail app that automatically links to IceWeasel so that clicking on URL's in an E-mail opens an IceWeasel window and clicking on an E-mail address in IceWeasel opens E-mail?
That is the primary feature that has kept me in Seamonkey - it was just too much hassle to fight with reliable integration in the past.
I'm fine with IceWeasel if Thunderbird or another similar E-mail app is easily integrated. I have the Calendar plugin but don't use it and prefer manual HTML (cleaner and more easily edited and repaired), so I don't require the extras of Seamonkey.
You may want to wait to hear from other users before doing any extra work.

You can't replace the kernel easily, it's quite complicated - here.
Both kernels are pretty much the same, so there's no reason to do this unless you really want the extra optimizations

Yep, it's FlashBlock, comes pre-installed. I think I'll remove it ... more choice.

Thought I was in the same boat....no interface was detected here either(wired dsl).SNS was a dead end but was able to use Network wizard to manually load the necessary module and get online.
