how to configure USB handset (skype)

hello all, I have Ubuntu and winXP on my computer - but neither really "cut it" for different reasons. I would really like to be able to use Skype with Puppy but my USB phone (handset) doesnt seem to work. Here is a shot of the usbview information:



Also - when I use skype in ubuntu or puppy (it works for messaging - no need for sound/mic) the CPU slowly ramps up to 100% and stays there, does anyone know why? Skype2/windows works fine.

I have done much googling and rtfm-ing and all I can come up with is sound driver problems, apparently skype must use OSS to be efficient, ARTS (is that right?) doesn't work properly with it...[/img]
