No problem. Its great to know we are moving toward being able to use Firefox extensions in Seamonkey.

This seemed like a really good idea, since I use Firefox and Opera on both Puppy and Windows on my main computer. I've used Speed Dial on both browsers for a long time, and I've always wanted to be able to keep them in sync. So I followed the instructions and built a nice Speed Dial page, with a background image. Nice idea, DaveS!

Unfortunately I have one problem that is a deal-killer.

If I set the Speed Dial page as my home page, it comes up when I start the browser. But I also want the Speed Dial page to load automatically when I open a new blank tab. Is there a way to make that happen?

I've been through all the settings in the menus, and I'm going through the about:config items looking for anything that might do it. But I'm not optimistic. Does anyone have a solution for this?

For Seamonkey, you can set that in the preferences. There is a place in the prefs where you tell Seamonkey to load your home page on startup. If you check, it is actually a drop down list, and one of the options is for opening a new tab at the homepage. For Firefox 3* you need an add on called Newtab Homepage https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/777/. At present there is no similar extension for Firefox 4* (yet), so just click the home button on the toolbar while holding down the Ctrl key.
I dont know about Opera though as I never use it.

There's also Tab Mix Plus, of course. :D It wouldn't surprise me if TMP had a beta/dev version out for FF4, but you'd have to check their forum (I just tried, but it wasn't responding :( ).

for something simple:
Free Online Web Browser Start Page Generator - Cool Tools
http://www.nifter.com/custom_start_page_generator.htm
its more of an "start home page" with search/bookmarks than an speed dial.
