I'm not quite as negative as he. Imagine one day, the government turning off all television, radio and telephones. What would people do, just sit there? No. We'd have politicians hanging from lamp posts in short order. Same with the Internet. The world has become so dependent upon it, people won't put up with shutting it off. People who need privacy will just software-encrypt their stuff, and it doesn't matter how many blackberries have back doors.
