Has your version of LibreOffice got a JRE built in? |
No as its only required for the database component. It was wary 09 kernel '35 that first exhibited this problem. Wary 09 '30 kernel is fine with Libre and Open Office.

Wary 0.9.2 (092) feedback Subject description: seamonkey |

No joy so far with building Seamonkey 2.0.9. Got it to configure (thanks to Coolpup), but won't build yet. Source is the stable version of 2.0.9. from Mozilla. |
Seamonkey 209 compiled okay for me, I installed these 4 pets and then
rebooted.
dbus-1.2.4.2permissive-q1.pet
dbus_DEV-1.2.4.2permissive-q1.pet
dbus-glib-0.82-q1.pet
dbus-glib_DEV-0.82-q1.pet
I created a directory named sea and put the 209 source there and unpacked the tar
file which created a comm-1.9.1 directory, I entered that directory and did:
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-application=suite
make
make install
After it finished compiling I clicked on the desktop icon and
seamonkey 209 started up.
I then deleted the sea directory (after clicking on the save button
and waiting for it to finish) to regain the space in my save file
that the source code was taking up.

Error package ..... failed to install
I encounter every time I install something that overwrites existing files
especially .deb .
Detected that after playing around with busybox-1.17.1 source and creating an experimental .pet with all its links
Installing coreutils, module-init-tools, find-utils .deb again to get the additional modules for internet and sound loaded again at bootup/xwin
always threw this error
but the links actually had been overwritten by the new full binaries.

snd_pcsp Subject description: snd_pcsp |

snd_pcsp was steeling the show from cs46xx. After I blacklisted the snd_pcsp, everything works fine.
With pfix=ram boot, sound was fine, but with upgrade from -090 to -092, with susequent boots the pcspeaker device was always the default - even after using alsa wizard and multiple sound card wizard and trying other things.
Is good now.

Seamonkey 2..0.9 pet compiled in Wary 0.9.2 |
|
Seamonkey 2.0.9 for Wary 0.9.2 is attached. 16MB.
Compiled from Mozilla stable source in Wary 0.9.2
get it here:
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-44902f67.html
I couldn't get it to build without the Quirky dbus stuff, so that is included in the pet. Should also work in Quirky, but haven't tested it in that as yet.
Thanks to Coolpup and Billtoo for their help with the build.

Fresh frugal install of Wary 092 (2.6.34.6) on the old P3 test box. Working internet and sound on initial boot.
Had the same failure with the Video Upgrade as the live session last night.Used the PPM to download the package..........the only url working was nluug.nl ....probably explains the failure last night.

atom board test |

Testing on the Atom board G945, no direct rendering reported. From xorg.conf:
VendorName "Intel Corporation"
BoardName "82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
(Fast display is not a big deal for me, actually.)
I tested Huawei modem with info:
T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=07 Cnt=01 Dev#= 3 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=12d1 ProdID=1001 Rev= 0.00
S: Manufacturer=HUAWEI Technology
S: Product=HUAWEI Mobile
and was able to connect via both pgprs and wvdial (too slow data transfer, though, so it could be the fault of my ISP). Device was detected as /dev/ttyUSB0.

Nvidia pets do not work Subject description: Black screen |

Hm. It's strange. I tried both the 256... and 195... nvidia pets from PPM but got black screen.
Note that Wary-090 runs fine with nvidia 256-59... on the same machine (ASUS P4S8X-X, NV44a GeForce 6200).

Guys, before I released 0.9.2, I checked OpenOffice and it worked. That was on my netbook.
However, on my main laptop it crashes.
The thing is, do we have a common factor here? Do you have Intel video? That is, you are using the 'intel' X driver -- look in /etc/X11/xorg.conf if you don't know.

Not sure whether this will help, but page two of this thread is serving up garbage this morning and I've lost John's email address.

Certainly Intel video here. (Intel mobile graphics)
| Code: | Identifier "Card0"
Driver "intel" #card0driver
Option "LinearAlloc" "6144"
VendorName "Intel Corporation"
BoardName "Mobile Integrated Graphics Controller"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Card0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
#Option "metamodes" "1280x800_60 +0+0" #METAMODES_0
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x800" |
I dont know quite why, but bear in mind OpenOffice is just fine on here with the '30 kernel.
Having said that, video performance IS different between the two kernels with '30 seeming slower to redraw the screen.
