Is this instruction from Page 1 still correct, please?

(The iso has a problem at the moment, please use the zip file for a frugal install until I get a chance to fix it).

Yeah, I've been on vacation, and I thought I was going to get a lot done, but somehow it just didn't work out. I've got a new job starting tomorrow. Things might be in disarray for a while.

Congratulations on the new job!

Still on an unpaid writing-sabbatical here. I had hoped for some work on the side but the government-caused economic mess here has really dried-up PT work.

I will wait patiently .... errr ... OK, I will try to wait patiently ... Wink

The problem is more subtle but exists in Seamonkey 2.0.8 as well.

Look at Jemimah's response. That fixed the problem.

OK, so adding fonts should work in Seamonkey as well as Chrome and Firefox?

Sounds simple ... and that worries me ... Rolling Eyes

I did it in Puppy 4.3.1 in Seamonkey and it worked. Not as many choices in the font properties in Seamonkey, but it helped a lot.

Please note the script to download the fonts. In Fluppy 006, I had to remove that extra " to get the script to work. In Puppy 4.3.1 on another computer, I had to leave it in. Go figure...

Hi all

Just made an sfs of seamonkey 2.0.9 with the latest flash
Could someone please test and evaluate it to see if it is worth upgrading the site download from 2.0.8 to 2.0.9
Thanks in advance

Someone posted to the Seamonkey support site that when they upgraded to 2.0.9 they lost their Address Book and all of their archived mail.

While a backup is *always* recommended have you observed this in an upgrade vs a new 2.0.9 install?

Is it an unfortunate "undocumented feature" they need to address or perhaps merely an anomaly in his specific install?

Hi edoc

Set up 208 on a clean frugal install, changed the home page, font settings and bookmarked a couple of sites.
removed 208 with add/remove sfs in the bootmanager configure bootup, and replaced it with 209, all the changes I made to 208 were carried forward to 209

I would still make a backup/list of your settings though (just in case)

hope this helps

I have 4 GB installed RAM on a Dell Vostro 220 Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 2.93GHz.
The available Fluppy 006 RAM however is 2.94 GB (Mem: 3080328).

I have no real need for the missing GB but out of curiousity I compiled the kernel
(http://puppeee.com/files/sources/kernel-source-2.6.34.7-patched.tar.bz2)
using /etc/modules/DOTconfig-K2.6.34.7atom as .config file.

make menuconfig modifications
---Processor type and features --->
------ Processor family (Core 2/newer Xeon)
-------High Memory Support (64GB)

I booted Fluppy 006 using the original initrd.gz file. The command "free" now reports Mem: 4084772.
If no drawbacks appear, would it be feasible to offer Fluppy with two choices of kernel?

I finally full installed Fluppy because it is the only thing works on my netbook.

I had all kinds of troubles such as partition problems. I finally settled with ext2 and grub is set.

However, suddenly NO sound. I cannot even get the sound setup in the menu and scim is not working. It worked fine before I install it.

I can read and see some Korean letters but NO input.

It has been already 2 weeks for now. I finally came to an internet bar and I am asking what should be done to the problems.

I do admit I haven't read all the post in this forum regarding Fluppy.

I might be the only guy in entire UNIVERSE asking this question.

However I have done enough try last 2 weeks. I though I knew Puppy but I don't AT ALL.

Any patches or pets to fix this problem? I had a hard time to make sfs work.

What worked fine suddenly stopped working. I ran out of my patient. Does anyone know what can help to solve this problem?

What is the best app to use in Fluppy to download and save videos from YouTube and elsewhere, please?

I need to share a history-related video clip in a learning environment for young people and the Internet access at the location is unreliable.

Thanks!

Subject description: How to cature the video

Hi Edoc

I sometimes do this for the same reasons as you and the way I do it is to play the video and before I play another go to the tmp directory and you will see the file stored there waiting to be played again if you wish. Just take a copy to My-Documents and rename it if you want and that is it. This process can be done in any distribution.

Regards
