I gave up on Go-OO when it had cups printer issues, where the cutback-OO worked well. I haven't tried the posted version.

Do you mean you like to disable the touchpad?
Flsynclient and the synclient-wrapper could not be a help?
Actually, I'm using it without issue on a Dell Inspiron 4000 running 5.2. In the past, I've eventually had to disable them when they become erratic (cursor starts jumping around the page, etc)....no problem here after running xorgwizard (or other Dell laptops) with SynPS/2 Synaptics Touchpad.

new version of wmswitcher.

It will detect the 5 main WMs for lupu: Jwm, Icewm, Xfce4, Openbox, Lxde.

Note: if you install xfce you will need to reinstall this pet. (yes, that needs to be fixed  )

Cheers

Larry says java is solved or updated?
Solved in my experimenting here at home--so we should have a jave ready to go before or at release.

Also an OpnOffice ready to go. I am sorry people about that OpenOffice not downloading. I don't understand unless it is the sfs ending. We often download from ibiblio.

I will work on this now. I will upload to another server rather than fight with ibiblio. ;-)

Go-OO-3.2.1-Lucid.sfs

playdayz,
Go-OO-3.2.1-Lucid.sfs file does not exist in 'http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... ges-lucid/' repertory.
It's Go-OO-3.2.1-Lucid.gz and this file is also 'access forbidden'.

Yeah, I did that to see if it made a difference. it was the darn permissions. This one works.

Go-Openoffice-3.2.1-Lucid Now downloading from both urls.

http://www.diddywahdiddy.net/Puppy500/G ... -Lucid.sfs

Please advise. I first tried the Ubuntu OOO, but it wanted too many dependencies (it is based on Go-OO). I used Go-OO because I had built a package before that worked. I never used OOO because it was so slow, which is why I am impressed with the speed.

Example of 3 tier menu not working
Xara is repeated
'Graphic processing' can be replaced with one of the other 3rd tier
Barry has built openbox and fbpanel into Woof, but I guess the menus have not received as much testing as jwm and icemwm.

Hi 01micko,

New version of wmswitcher and Quickpet v4alpha4 both work fine.

Also installed your Quickpet v4alpha4 in Wary 0.9. It installed fine, however, as expected, applications were not in the database. Although, More pets and SFS links worked fine.

Thanks,
Jim

New stuff - 3 SFS's and a Pet

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -Lucid.sfs
Acrobat Reader is huge but if I were working with pdf's and it had to be right--it is what I would use. An sfs makes it easier to install without wasting so much space.

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -Lucid.sfs
This is the latest Jave-JRE configured and tested with Firefox and Iron.

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -Lucid.sfs
This is Go OpenOffice.

To install sfs's, download them into /mnt/home and then Menu -> System -> Bootmanager -> top button for sfs's. Select it and then reboot..

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -Lucid.pet
Iron 6, new on OCT 9. IMHO it is the fastest browser for Lucid--not necessarily saying the best. I think in taking out the spyware they made it faster, well, duh. This is a pet.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a new version of luci-232 now posted.

Fresh frugal install of Luci-232 on the old P3 test computer. Internet and sound working as well as the correct screen resolution on initial boot.

Installed Xorg_High and Firefox 4.0 b6.....no problems yet. :)

I also am running 232 with no issues so far. If I may just throw out a thought for Shinobar on his startup app, when gposil was developing dpup he made a check box for starting with numlock on. Personally, I think this would be a worthwhile addition to the startup screen if not too difficult. Many people using desktops would find this extremely handy.

Using 232 puppy pfix = ram

First I accidentally did an update and it went OK (so that is good)
I think I have found the source of the double connection icons . . .

The first thing I did on (fresh) install was use the pup advert blocker
(even before installing a browser) - I think that is when they came up
I then installed the firewall (should really have done that first) and that is when I noticed two sets of bottom right icons . . .
I then installed Firefox and the second set went . . .

OK back to play time . . . :)

Using 232 (puppy pfix = ram) :
Cd-Live did an update (231 to 232) directly, without any choice...
I had got same thing with 231 CD-Live. (from 230 to 231).

Samsung X05 and Luci-232

#100 Post by alec78 »

Hi all,
Just downloaded luci-232 and installed it on a USB dongle.
First boot went straight to the desktop with the correct resolution and sound. Shinobar's first time wizard allowed the selection of the right keyboard, so I have a gb keyboard and touchpad tapping, without going anywhere near the xorgwizard
Congrats all round.
Cheers
