Network Boot - does Puppy need this as an option to installs

Many years ago Network booting a linux OS was common, particularly debian, and slackware, from memory....however since the bootable live CD, it has gone out of fashion, but many old PCs especially laptops can't boot from CD

So, question is, is it easy to network boot a current Puppy OS?

Would any of these tools be useful?

Since Puppy lucid is *buntu based.....is this feature available...?

If not, should it be included?

It seems that all that is required is grub on the target PC, and the ISO contents files available for download, or did I miss something?

So perhaps the download page of the community server at ibiblio or nluug.nl could be used?

I also thing it would be very useful to be able to have network install as an option in puppy.
You said that some of the older hardware do not have a cd drive and this is also true of a lot of newer laptops including of course netbooks.
I have also found that some of the older hardware hangs during boot unless you specifically download a version with an older kernel version.

I have not had a huge amount of success netbooting puppy from within puppy but from what I have read quite a few others have managed this ok (I must be misreading the instructions somewhere.

It really hacks me off to have to boot into a windows install to be able to netboot puppy on a machine.

Other minimal distros like slitaz have netbooting included so I don,t think this option would add much bloat, or just an easy to set up pet would be useful.

I hope more people will respond to your post so that we can have this as an option.

If anyone want me to help with testing I would be glad to get involved.
