Foreign language learning in Linux

#1 Post by oui »

hi

applications to learn foreing languages often require Windows.

using following great German pages it is now possible for no costs in Linux:

http://www.goethe-verlag.com/book2/EN/index.htm or
http://www.goethe-verlag.com/book2/FR/index.htm or
http://www.goethe-verlag.com/book2/ZH/index.htm

depending of your own language

you can choice your own language, for ex. English, and one or more than 40 other languages

download the pages with seamonkey

- create a new directory with the name of the field, for example ENJA in case of English-Japanese
- download an of both audio-files of the target language JA in case of JA into the new dir
- click on Japanes and the lessons sheet appears
- click on 1 (People)
- enter CRTL S
- click Enter
the first lesson is saved in your dir!
- click on arrow right on the page of the first lesson to get the next and CTRL S followed by Enter etc...

yes, 100 x, but it is fast with the short cuts CTRL S, Enter...

you have you complete tutor for Japanese or an other language in your new dir.

and if a Japanese man did learn your own language with this tutor withe the reverse combination of languages, you are certain of good inter comprehension...

the 2 other sites give access to export facilities for real best word lists and compared linguistic... and you can find there codes for exotic characters like Chinese etc...

have fun!

salut

Do you know scrap book add-on (FIREFOX)?

Get Firefox and download this add-on, RIGHT CLICK>capture page as (I'm using spanish version, it should say something like that).
This start a Java-Scrip that alloud you customize your download files from a page (by extensions and domain). Maybe is a little easier that repeating and probably less boring...
Just a tip.

I also use SeaMonkey, in fact is my default browser, but FireFox with scrap-book is there, always prepared to downlad a full site....
