OmegaT is intended for professional translators. It is cross-platform computer assisted translation tool. Some of its features include user-customisable segmentation using regular expressions, translation memory, fuzzy matching, match propagation, glossary matching, context search in translation memories and keyword search in reference materials.

First I tried OmegaT under Windows 7.

I was disappointed because it lost what I just had typed. It seemed to me to be a data destruction machine and I turned away.

Under Linux you get modest and happy about everything that works  And I was rewarded: I tried OmegaT again, and the ugly duckling turned into a swan.

Works as expected! There are section pairs (source language, target language). In the target language, the section first appears in the source language, too. You overwrite this with the translation and save. In this way, the text is gradually transformed into the translated document.

Not at all I am a native speaker of English. But I have fried. It is one of the few examples that there are actually successful attempts to use artificial intelligence. Otherwise AI belongs to the world of charlatans for me until further notice. As long as even simple standards like WebDAV (under Microsoft Windows) don't work normally and automatic doors smash hard on me and voice control of a PC (under Microsoft Windows) is a joke of itself, I will mock artificial intelligence.

But now my exception example: https://deepl.com/ The first intelligent online translator that doesn't deliver laughable results. Because it's as intelligent as a machine really can be in 2019.

And what's sensational is that this service saves the honor of a country that is dug up deep in the IT province. I speak with sadness of Germany, the land of poets, thinkers and engineers. One should not rest on one's laurels. Diesel only was great in the 1900ers. Time goes on.

Gradually I translate a very important book (no, not the Holy Bible) from English into German. For the Queen of my heart, who does not speak English.

That's why, OmegaT, together with https://deepl.com/, is very helpful for me. My recommendation.

OmegaT is another application that strengthens my sympathy for Java.
I use a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2, built in 2009. I love it. My Slacko 5.7 (32 Bit) is on a 10 GB SD Card. So I can boot it everywhere (Smartphones excluded :P ).
