Both transmsission and aqualung have systray options, but they don't work in 503. Aqualung just closes cleanly and the transmission window closes but the program stays running, can bring up the window by clicking the desktop icon again. Anybody else with systray issues?

Fixed in 506. Very Happy

I just tried a frugal install of 506 on a compaq armada 1700w/ 233 PII/160mb. It booted fine but is slow compared to 4.3.1. Have swap set to 200mb. Installed java and then frostwire and it froze for about 3 min while loading frostwire.

Hi,

tried to install lupu, grub and MBR to usb stick. I tried with lupu-506 and luci-213.
Using Grub bootloader config (no matter simple or expert) I also get only an empty Grub folder, no Grub installed. Works fine with Puppy 4.31, only menu.lst is wrong and must be edited.

~ Rolf

Edit: I just tried the code from 01micko:
Code:
Run this Code:
ln -s /bin/cp /bin/cp-FULL

do this too for good measure
Code:
 ln -s /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc /usr/lib/grub/i386-t2

report
Works fine Very Happy Only wrong menu.lst, similar to Puppy 4.31.

I have tested 506 on my Acer and it worked good.

Plan to test it on my HP/Compaq soon. Hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks for all the good work guys. No need to hurry. Take a break if you feel for it.

Puppy building should be fun and not a core.

Yes Rolf. This should be working correctly in lupu-507. Thanks.

Hey JamesC. Is there any command line switch that will make the Root warning go away? b Or, more likely, it would have to be recompiled with an option (as with VLC).

It's a source hack.... I did the hack with a tip from technosaurus but never posted thunar..

I'll find it later

Grub is working fine with 507; both from universal installer and
grub bootloader.

Inspiron 4000, full install-grub on mbr.
Dimension 3000, full install-dual boot with Xp, grub on mbr.

Edit;
Inspiron 4000 hangs at "puppy is now shutting down";
Drops to x on startup, needs "xwin" to continue.

Thunar would be good to have in PPM I think.

I believe so too. I really like the preference manager......really simple to change the configuration.

Consider, on initial bootup an option to autoboot or to run xorgwizard.

We can use 'pfix=nox' boot option.
Tried 507 on my old Sony laptop, same problem as 506. "pfix=nox" added to menu.lst did not work. However, there needs to be a way to go directly to the xorgwizard and bypass the autoconfiguration for those that the autoconfiguration doesn't work.

lupu-507 works great with a new frugal installation on my main system.

Cheers,
Jim Very Happy
