cant run seamonkey as spot with puppy 5.0.1

#1 Post by amico »

I have installed puppy 5.0.1 and i cant run seamonkey as user spot, why?
I simply put the code in usr/local/bin/defaultbrowser:
su spot -c
seamonkey
this working perfectly with 4.3.1 and 5.0

Hmmm...

I am running Seamonkey-2.0.5 in the latest Puppy 5.1 beta right now as user "spot"

Code: Select all

# su spot
# cd $HOME
# seamonkey
I'd be surprised if that doesn't work.

Cheers

Ok, I made a pet that runs browser as Spot.

It works in Puppy 5 but only from command line. There is a menu entry that works in latest puppy lucid - luci-213

It ONLY works on mozilla browsers <-- firefox, seamonkey

Command is "browsesafe"

Cheers

EDIT
OK, I made a newer version that detects if you have a mozilla browser or not and if so runs, if not errors with a message.

EDIT: pets deleted, started a thread
