Thanks for posting your problem. I am the person responsible for modem support. You could help me analyze your problem by gathering more information. The simplest/best way is to first install the 4 packages for 4.3.1 attached to the posting here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=388235#388235
Then use pupdial to "probe", then "ERASE" the current modem selection (so can detection can occur with the updated packages). Reboot and go as far as you can to connect. Then, in a console, type the command: pmodemdiag. That will put a "pmodemdiag..." file on your "home" window" (Click the "home" icon, to see it.). Please attach that to a PM to me. That way I can see what your are up against.
