My full name is Karl Reimer Godt and this is my first post at www.murga-linux.com.
My first experiences with Linux are SuSE 6.2 6xCD and Debian 3.1 (1x9 GB DVD) several years ago.
I thought that I was a not so "new-be" but after established Internet Connection first at the beginning of this year I had to recognize that Linux<>Linux.
At LQ.org I was supposed to try Puppy Linux at April this year and I needed time to find out more about.
I downloaded (Puppy-, MacPup_Opera2-, MacPup_Foxy3-)4.3.1; LHPup normal and large 4.4.x, KDPup X.Y. Quirky 110 and found some older 4.2,4.1,3. versions on CD/DVD.
So I think that I have introduced myself a little.....
(I am not a programmer or IT-tech; I read and do a lot and (unfortunately) forget a lot (especially details).
I have to say that all linux have some flaws but the things that I need most are internet and printing and the "tiny" Puppy (4.3.1) can support both and I am thinking of sacrificing suse 9.2 5xCD/2DVD for not beeing able to connect to internet and setting up printing: first just nonstop paperflowing without printing and now totally responseless...
So I installed MacPup_Opera2-4.3.1 and this now is my /boot/grub/menu.lst:
