Saving Network Settings

#1 Post by HABalloonGirl »

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to Puppy and have it running on an old Dell with version 4.3.1. I've configured my network settings to use a static IP and my gateway and dns settings and clicked yes when puppy asks whether I want to save my settings. When I reboot the computer, the connection does not appear with ifconfig and the static IP and gateway have been reset to 0. How should I be saving my configuration to boot everytime the computer is turned on?

Also, I'm restarting the computer in the first place because even though the output of ifconfig, route, and cat /dev/resolv.conf look good, I still cant connect to the internet or ping any addresses. I was told that restarting the computer with the new settings would fix the issue if everything else looked fine.

Thanks for the help.
