Sound problems when recording and playing..

#1 Post by jpmtrax »

Hello

My sound problems are :

1) when playing mp3s or wavs in aqualung, gxine, vlc or anything else, everytime i have at least one lost buffer, and usually 4 or 5 by track. It's really really boring.

2) when trying to record with mhwavedit or arecord, i have lots of overruns. Even if nothing else is running.

I have a small configuration who works quite good for puppy, but maybe i have something to change in it.

Celeron 533 Mhz
256 Mb SDRAM
First Hard Disk : an old fujistsu hd 4 Gb (It's just for the system), 2Gb Free
Second Hard Disk : more recent, a WD, 160 Gb (130 Gb free) with a 2048 Kb buffer,
buffer size : 256 kb

soundcard is an onboard integrated cmedia 8738

mother board is an old one too. I didn't have (all) those problems on win98.

What can i do :?: :?:
