FYI, I think I compiled those before I knew about the solution to the insert key kills seamonkey/firefox bug. (needs a second recompile for just the main gdk and gtk libs with --enable-debug=minimum) no other issues as far as I know (btw the debugging libs add about 500kb at least in 2.14, 2.18 and 2.20)

How do I replicate this bug please? I would like to try it in SM2............

Yes, Where do I find details please. I've pressed the insert key on my laptop with GTK-2.16x and it had no effect....

Can you press the insert key while typing a response to this message without the browser closing?

What I mean is, I dont know how to apply this patch. I guess I need to download a source package, apply the patch and re-build?
At present I am using 4.3.2 with SM2 and the gtk+2.16.6-i486 package. The insert key problem is gone with this.

I pressed "insert" several times while replying to this thread. SM never crashed. So perhaps the patch was applied when technosaurus compiled this version.

Just a thought...

...wait. Wasn't it backspace that caused the problem?

That's good news - I had rolled all the way back to the original 2.14.7 in 4.4 alpha 1 for other reasons and skipped the 2.16.6 version because I didn't recall doing a second compile. I'll put it into 4.4alpha2.

Backspace is only a problem if pressed while holding down Ctrl and Alt.... unless you add dontzap to your xorg.conf.

It was Insert, at least for me. I use Backspace all the time, and it was always a rare accident when SeaMonkey closed, so it could only have happened because I hit Insert by accident when I was going for Backspace.

Hmm. Wonder why it stuck in my mind as being backspace, then?

I almost never hit Insert, though. :D

I just installed Barry's patched Rox, and the focus bug is cured. I am using glib-2.20.5-i486.pet and gtk+-2.16.6-i486.pet with it. No problems so far and filechooser is not offset. Finally looks like a bug free fix..........

I am having the same off center problem in Puppy 4.3.1, but not 4.2 not 5.1, but I cannot find a download of gtk+-2.16.6-i486.pet. Does anyone knows where gtk+-2.16.6-i486.pet can be found?
