I want to install Firefox 3.6.2. Package manager only offers 2.0.0.7. I have downloaded 3.6.2.tar.bz2. How do I install it please?
Thanks
Tony

Thanks but this takes me to something (puppylinux.asia/tpp) which requires a login. The login I use here doesn't work and I can't find any way to add a new one.

If you want to install the tar.bz2, just go to the place where you downloaded the file and click on it.
You will see the archive window.
Select all and choose the directory where you want FireFox to be extracted.
I make a directory outside the save file being in frugal install)
Push extract.
From within the FireFox directory you can start FireFox.
You have to make yourself the desktop file if you want FireFox to be in the menu.

Of course Beem is correct [how come my keyboard aint got them cool "marks" over the E]. I guess I am just lazy, and therefor always looking for the "easy" way!
BTW the "peppyy's search link" in Beem's sig. is what I have bookmarked, and use often.

  1. Buy a Belgian keyboard
  2. Lear to type on a azerty keyboard Wink and type é and è as I do.

Or see this chart
Now I know there is a way to type the code like 232, 233, but I don't remember how it is done exactly. I think by a ALT/ALT-Gr combination.

But don't bother I am used to see my alias without the accented characters.
