How to operate on jpeg or tif files with Genie?

#1 Post by jump »

Hello all,
this is my first post, i have been using puppy for nealy a month now and i like it lots. :)

Enyway i wanted to start to have a play with the GENIE programming language as i had a few ideas for image processing filters i would like to write. However i have not found much help documentation for GENIE and would like to know how i open a .jpg or .tif so i can have the image as an array to play with? Also is it easy to display an image in a window? thanks :-)

Jump, it looks like you might have to figure it out for yourself. I'd start by experimenting on an image composed of just a few pixels, such as a forum avatar, to see what Genie can do and how it works.

I've done zero vala/genie, but here is an example of using vala on tiff files. Maybe it could be of use?
