BE AWARE!!!!
If you have Puppy installed, you MUST run this with the prefix 'puppy pfix=ram'. Else, the Stardust desktop will not install.
Here is the good old Stardust icon-theme updated for Puppy Stardust (thanks to 01micko)
Comments version 011
We are getting closer, no big news in this release...
- The shutdown procedure has moved from the menu to a dialog box. Not my personal choice, but no big deal for me so here it is. I have left the shutdown-menu as an alternative option in Pmenu. You can set it as the mouse-right-menu or similar. Also added a 'leave' button in the top-tray.
- Rox has become much more integrated now. I have used Hairywills roxrightclicks as a base, but made a complete new structure underneath it. Instead of using hardcoded links in the rox right-click menu, I have made rox-apps of the required defaults-apps (You'll find them in /usr/local/apps). These are linked into the rox-menu. In combination with the 'default-setter' in pcc, we have a flexible system for rox integration. One of the menu-items are 'Add to Favorites' which instant adds a new item to the Favorites menu. - I like that one....
On the bad side, I had to remove some 'fixes' from last week.
- MHHP made a improved pup_event_frontend, but because of alignment issues I have temporary returned to the old script. The drive icons became halfway hidden by the main tray, and I couldn't figure out the correct order at boot to get everything play the same game. - Pwidgets should be started first to avoid drive-icons above widgets. But, then rox set wallpaper after, and widgets background became corrupted.
- Ecubes partview wouldn't run.
- There has been many reorts that Pmount in 010 didn't work. This was an upgraded version from shinobar. We have to go back to the original until things are settled...
The Stardust Desktop Environment has got some kind of 'structure', so I have uploaded some stuff (see bottom of this post). It is NOT meant for use, but for experiments, and because I think it's time to share. How this should be done in the future, is not clear to me, so any viewpoint is welcome. The packages is
- StardustDE which holds the added/updated files to get a Stardust Desktop Environment. It is large, but most of it should replace original Puppy stuff. Note that original icon-themes are not entirely compatible with Stardust. The included theme weight alone around 230Kb.
- Stadust_pre-installation_script is the script I use to build the Stardust iso. The only part that is important for Stardust Desktop Environment, is to remove some original icons, rox-files... This is not critical, but you will get some quirkies. This script is not meant for any other person than Ziggy (it is hardcoded for my system), so look at it, and see how Stardust is built..... Don't expect it to build any Stardust iso for you.
- Stardust_Pwidgets is a stripped version of the original Pwidgets. I don't think it should harm anything to use the original Pwidgets, but building a 99Mb operating system requires complete focus on every kilobyte.
Changelog since Stardust 010:
#Rox menu includes logical links to default apps/actions (thanks to Hairywill for roxrightclicks)

____________________________________________________________________________
The following list shows many items that is taken out of the iso. But, it is not as critical as it seems. Most of these are tiny apps, and you have not been aware of many of them. Simply because other apps do the job.
Aqualung has left, and Pmusic is back. Pmusic has evolved in both features and speed, so It is more a matter of longterm strategy. I hope it will be possible to build more around ffmpeg in the future. We could hopefully get rid of lidsnd, libsamplerate and maybe libxine...
Gadmin-Rsync is out as well, since it crashed on first run. I don't think Pbackup fill the backup issue completely. It would be wonderful if there exists a tiny but complete backup suit.
If you see something that you would have changed, added or removed, I will be very glad if you mentioned it. Because of my limited time, it would be best if you deliver the patch.... My knowledge of network/internet tools is close to zero, so these are nearly untouched.
Possible improvements are easy to see

Thanks it works now to mount an usb several times and rebooting in between.
But you forgot to connect the firewall menu button to the actual program and you forgot to untick the index search of pfind.
But good you told me to shut it off and you or somebody told me how to get the firewall going but now I don't remember anymore.
Ooops found it again.
try /usr/sbin/firewall_install.sh
I downloaded the codecs for mplayer and tested on svt.se
I wonder why I don't dare to check nrk.no hard black metal
Your stardust have 1GB free at start but as soon me had added the codecs then it went down to 480 something free out of 3GB mem.
should I have "trim the fat"? I usually feel too stupid to know what one dare to trim.
But to lose 500meg just for codecs seems excessive but it is not your fault.
Stardust render streaming videos better than other 431.
so thanks for fixing the mount usb problem.

Hello, zigbert
First of all, I appreciate your effort and all the gifts you have been giving.
It is good to see newer versions keep coming.
However, Stardust is being updated a little too fast, in my humble opinion.
When I look at the list of the changes, I wonder if they are already ironed out when you released previous version just short while ago.
All I am saying is that each version has bigger, bolder steps and a special meaning for version numbers.
With all due respect,
John

One hit F5 once or twice but wait in between. sometimes one need to wait some seconds between such try and maybe second or third it works again. Be patient when you wait. say 5 seconds between those try with F5willie wrote:I can't download it, limit exceeded

Ziggy, I need your help with this one:
I have 1.5GB free when it is booted before it has made a pupsave file but when I have saved a 64mb pupsave file and boot second time then it is only 57MB free of memory out of 3GB
So something is either wrong in what I do or something hog all the memory.
puppy NOP has at least 373 MB free
what is going on?
