...Graham Cluley of anti-virus firm Sophos told BBC News that not only did the warning apply to 6, 7 and 8 of the browser, but the instructions on how to exploit the flaw had been posted on the internet....

The article doesn't say if the German government recommended a browser to use instead. Confused

The French have followed . . .
About time the whole of Europe realised
that if a browser is targeting Google (or Opera as in the past)
the criminals may be the Ballmer Boys

The British have a deal with MS (Billus Gatus - the well known virus, met Tiny Blare - the well known war monger) so might take them a while to
realize they should not believe the men in banker suits

I am pleased to say my family are at least using Firefox (if not Puppy)

Thanks Flash - will be following this emerging story
with geek fervour Smile

Affected are the versions 6, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Internet Explorer on Windows systems XP, Vista and 7 Microsoft has released a security advisory [edited 1], in which it describes possible ways of minimizing risk. Microsoft is already working on a patch to close the security gap. The BSI expects that this vulnerability will be used in a short time for attacks on the Internet.
