jimmyhan,
I'm not sure I understand your question. PGPRS modem setup is the third button on the Internet Connection Wizard via 'Connect' icon. Please also try 'pgprs-shell' in a terminal. Be sure to enter in your APN and the other fields as needed.

If you can't connect, please try it with Puppy 4.3x or another puplet and let us know what works.
Thank you,
TazOC

my motherboard is Asus a7n8x-e deluxe with Amd 2400 1024MB of Ram

just make hardware report attachment; for helpful users

my other problems is:
this motherboard have the firewire IEEE1394, and with windows i use this with a dvcam SHARP VL-NZ50,...but with lighthouse i cannot see this camera;
how to proceed?? Sorry for my bad english, and remember i'm new in linux,

Should be in the menu, if not Network, see the Internet | Dialup menu, or click File System | /applications | pgprs-connect.desktop.

I recommend a frugal install and Mariner SFS, it has extra display drivers. What video card do you have? Didn't see listed in hardinfo. Should be listed at end of /etc/X11/xorg.conf and or in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

I don't have a similar camera to test with, maybe someone else knows?

I love the concept and design of LHP, but I'm about ready to give up on making it work on a USB stick. I have been unable to make it work 'persistent,' i.e., to remember what SFS's to load, xorg settings, wireless etc. It sees the pupsave file, it loads it, it appears to save to it... it just does 'nothing' upon reboot.

Any suggestions appreciated!

thanks,
jf

jf,
Sorry about the difficulties. I wonder if it could be related to the bug where ntfs drives are automounted read-only? You might try disabling Automount (icon in /mnt) and reboot. Hmm, maybe not; settings probably won't be remembered anyway.

What file system is your USB drive, fat32? Are you using the Puppy Universal Installer? Please let me know and I'll do some testing with the same method and file system.

Thanks, TazOC- FAT32 on USB,have tried every possible install option. Just tried NOP, new version, installed using Unetbootin.. and it seems to work fine, where 'plain' Puppy, the Lighthouse version, the E17 version, and a few others all had problems no matter how installed. I have no clue what the difference is! The Google Earth and Openoffice sfs's from the Lighthouse site load fine, but interestingly enough, NOPs bootmanager does not even 'see' the Mariner sfs, much less let me load it! Openoffice works, but Earth does not start up, even though it is on the menu.
I still need Firefox and Thunderbird sfs that will load.... or a LHP that will start persistent!
thanks,
jf

Will do my best here. The Mariner SFS has a version number '_443.sfs', so need to rename it w/o the '_443' so that NOP or other Puppy versions can see it. I've only tested it with LHP so I don't know if/how it will work. LHP's GoogleEarth doesn't work for me either, yet. Thanks for letting me know.

Renamed it, and so far, Firefox and Thunderbird work in NOP, although the font is a bit narrow and cramped. Will try Mariner setup and see what else happens...

jf

Edit - well, it did not seem to do any harm! With Openoffice and Mariner on NOP I guess I now have 'Nearly Lighthouse Office Puppy!'

Edit - even with Mariner, Earth will not run. Also, the 'Exit Mariner Setup' Dialog box show up on every boot.

Edit - loading the Graphics sfs, Scriber works, Blender and Inkscape do not.

Try this pet which updates /usr/sbin/snapmergeuppy. Install LHP to the flash drive, boot from it and then install this pet. Should save each session properly. This fix will be in the next release as well.

The modification screens out some files that caused the script to end prematurely (.wh..wh.plnk and .cache-2).

That fix works great, thanks. Some more results:
1. Google Earth still does not work, tried under several window managers, no luck.
2. Only Scribus works from the graphics sfs add on.
3. Am going to try Earth as a Slackware add-on....
jf
EDIT: No luck with Earth, still hangs when initializing....
