What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

And if so, can you please advice me what to put in the various boxes of the printer wizard (mostly the questions at the end),

I have played quite a bit with this but have not been able to get anything printed, :(

thanks much in advance,
Owl.

HP 900 Printer

#2 Post by dewdrop »

Hi,

You might consider reading thru the following thread:

http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=2049

I helped Rarsa with the testing on the thread, and wound up with 2 HP printers working great.

It will take some study on your part, but it will be well worth the effort in the end....I learned a lot about Linux and Puppy for my efforts.

Good luck, and if you have questions, you might consider posting them on that thread that way both Rarsa and myself will see them and although he is much more qualified to help, I might be able to answer some of them.

Regards,

Hi Dewdrop,

I followed all instructions from the thread you mentioned (WOW, that was quite a thread !), and have CUPS installed.

Everything seems to be fine, except for on thing: when I print a test page from the CUPS webpage (which is instruction #12), nothing happens with the printer.

When I check the printer status in CUPS, I see that the page get cancelled right away by PUP.

Have you any idea what this means ?

thanks in advance,
Owl.
