01micko's bugfixes and apps for Dpup
Patches
1. Wbar-setup fix resolves issue where wbar was persistant if you decided you didn't want it any more and had changed the geometry settings
wbar-setup-patch-b51.pet
2. Wbar Control-Panel fix resolves issue of control panel icon failing (it was calling pcp2, now calls pcp3). You must restart wbar from the "Wbar Configuration" gui in Wbar-Setup for it to work.
NOTE: updated to v2 Dec 5
wbar-control-panel-patch-v2.pet
Apps
1. Icewm-1.3.5-me2-i486 The same as the last version except some modifications for dpup-beta5, including new Quick Launch entries, some of ttuuxxx' themes, some hacked stock themes. It integrates shutdown and restart of Jwm and Icewm completely. Depends (for Wbar) on this package.. wbar-icewm-shutdown-patch.pet . No need for this if you do not use wbar and/or Icewm.
Warning: The 'pinstall.sh' script in the Icewm pet modifies '/etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc' however a backup is made in the same dir before modification.
icewm-1.3.5-me2-i486.pet 671k
2. pekwm-puppy-theme.pet This is ttuuxxx' "paw and bones" theme for icewm ported to pekwm. You need musher0's pekwm package to use this
pekwm-puppy-theme.pet 11k
3. tint2-0.7-i486-dpup.pet This a transparent panel ideal for use with pekwm, or whatever. You will need to get your hands dirty to configure your setup
tint2-0.7.1-i486-dpup.pet 36k
updated to v-0.7.1 much smaller
That's all for now

Eagerly awaiting beta5. Want to see if a frugal will cleanly unmount the partition at shutdown. Beta4 didn't. Also, dpup and several other puppies wont shut down in Xvesa, so hard to run in VirtualBox.

A note for Dpup482 future....
Beta5 will be the last Dpup(non-retro kernel) to have Xvesa support, we will be moving to generic vesa in Xorg, as per all major distros...
The retro kernels when released will still have Xvesa.
Cheers

Cheers | Does this mean that in Xorg there won't be support any more for dri and glx etc..?

No, it only means there will be no Xvesa, it will be replaced by vesa under Xorg...

Has this problem been reported before...I certainly haven't had any problems unmounting at shutdown....has anyone else had this problem...

You only see this issue when you do a fsck, not at shutdown time.
I got this in several puppies already.
Can't remember them all, but the latest case was with upup476.
Haven't checked for a dpup yet.

Hello, bunch!
While waiting for the new incarnation of dpup, I went to try what happens when you hit Crtl-Alt-F1, F2, etc.
To get back to your X-Window, it seems that you do Ctrl-Alt-F5. Please note "it seems", not absolutely sure, it may be another key combination.
In any case, a couple of questions about this:
* There seems to be quite a few of these Alt-Ctrl consoles. Does anybody know how many?
* say I type Ctrl-Alt-F2. I get a login prompt. What are the id and pword there? Are they specific to dpup?
* once in, what can I do there? Console stuff, nano editing, etc. ? An fsck, maybe?
* For the sake of argument, could I start another or the same Puppy in a new X-win ? It would useless 'cause there's already one running, I know, but theoretically?
* Another distro, even ? A year back or so, in his notes, BK mentioned the possibility of Puppy integrating another distro through some magic maneuver I never understood. (Gentoo? Can't remember.) Would that be the "door" to doing it? It would be fun to get one going under a Puppy! Maybe useless, but fun!
BFN. Thanks in advance.

There should be 3 terminals, those are specified in /etc/inittab AFAIK,
there's one with autologin to X and two more virtual terminals.
I think you can't start another X session unless you have multiple monitors.
However two or more terminals can be usefull if some app freezes your X and you switch to another terminal to kill it or something similar. Yes you can also run cli apps in those.
user and password @ prompt are root and woofwoof

Many thanks, dejan.
Useful indeed if you can use kill or htop to un-stick your X...
What does "cli" mean in "cli apps"?
