Logitech USB Headset not saving settings (solved)

#1 Post by Jeffreytooker »

I have installed a Logitech USB headset. I have run ALSA setup. Unit works. At re boot unit does not work. Run ALSA setup again unit works.
Checked etc/modprobe.conf at boot up, after ALSA setup, and after re booting. At first boot "alias snd-card-0 snd-inntel8x0", alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0. After ALSA setup "alias snd-card-0 snd-usb-audio", "alias sound-slot-0 snd-usb-audio". After re boot "alias snd-card-0 snd-inntel8x0", alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0. The saved instructions are being overwritten at re boot. I have searched the archives and gotten this far. I have edited etc/modprobe.conf as noted in the archives, and the re boot always overwrites etc/modprobe.conf. Is there a fix to stop the overwriting?

Kept Looking

#2 Post by Jeffreytooker »

After I posted the above message I kept looking and came across the link below:

http://www.ces.clemson.edu/linux/alsa.shtml

read "ALSA Mixer" and also "The source of the problem".

After reading the above I went to "Boot Manager" and "Black Listed" snd-intel8x0, which had been overwriting the USB instructions. I setup ALSA for USB again. Rebooted, and USB headset works. :)
