Rox size and position from command

#1 Post by 01micko »

Does anyone know how to open a rox window from the command line at 'X' x 'Y' pixels (position) at 'X' x 'Y' size? I am becoming familiar with rox "SOAP" options but there doesn't seem a way there either, without adding extra dependencies. Even Gtkdialog can do this, why is it a challenge in rox???

Yes saw that but it depends on bbappconf and the link to it is broken.

you might want to have a look at xdotool:

pet attached.

for usage you might also have a look at roxset. if you browse through the thread, you will find some code about how to place rox on screen.

thread is here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 1&start=15

hope this helps.

Thanks aragon

That works nicely.

A question. The pet you supply is 19.3 kB, ok there is a man page. Seasides pet of 'rox-set' is only 12kb including the xdotool exec. I see the exec you supply is larger too. Is yours later? If so, is there any advantage in using the later version? I know it is only KB but I look at these things! Which reminds me of something to mention to gposil (unrelated)

mick,

nice that it works.

size: i don't remember

it's the actual version, bin should be stripped (as i allways do that). extracted sizes are

38 kb bin
15 kb man

so this could explain the difference to seasides one. also i don't know which version he is using.
