Dosbox games for kids SFS

#1 Post by sidders »

Whilst researching\building and due to a suggestion from Rob, i have petted some old dos games for kids. All run on Dosbox 0.72 from here:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 93&t=27600

There is a script and conf file for each, no need to dally with all that, (hopefully) click on the pet and go. There is even a review of the game that will pop up in My-docs!

An SFS with 3 of the below is available, please see this thread.

Details of the games:

I would like to point out that if Peppers adventures in time bangs on about high taxes being the reason for the bid for independence, then it is wrong (you paid higher taxes in the mother country, uk), it is taxation without representation that was the beef. I've even seen this particular peice of history being distorted on holiday programmes in the US. Thomas Paine is your man.

Rant over. Enjoy

Your attention please people. A big note on the Dosbox games. I have spent a couple of hours playing with the dosbox games. in particular the issue with full screen. A lot depends on the amount of pixelatiion your happy with in a way. This is all controlled via the /root/dos_emul/gamename/gamename.conf.

The particular section is [render]. the scaler option is set to the default none. This can be changed to normal1x or normal3x for example. Its what ever you and your kids\nurseries etc are happy with. I'm afraid i dont have a definitive answer, so some feedback please.

There are other games? Likes to play DOS games, but how they are playing their ownto always display:
---
CONFIG:Loading primary settings from config file /root/.dosbox/doom2.conf
"vga" is not a valid value for variable: machine.
It might now be reset it to default value: svga_s3
MIDI:Opened device:oss
