How to edit the menu and move icons puppy Linux 4.2.1

#1 Post by jr223 »

Howdy!

I love my puppy 4.2.1 running om my Assus eeePC 2GB surfer.
However I would like to move some the icons into the menu or some folders on the desktop.
I can't seem to find out how to do this?

Any sugestions would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks

Start by looking at the Puppy manual here:

It is silly to edit .jwmrc, as it gets automatically overwritten.
Edit /etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc, and/or the files in /usr/share/applications
Run `fixmenus` and restart jwm to see the changes... but it is best to run `jwm -p` in a terminal first, to make sure you haven't broken anything.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here
