The best places to get e17 theme and backgrounds:

http://www.e17-stuff.org/

http://exchange.enlightenment.org/

Both themes and backgrounds are .edj files ,after you download them move them to ./e/e/backgrounds or themes . Its a hidden folder in /root , click on the eye on the rox tool bar to see it .The select them in the menu under settings.

To use your own picture . Put it in the root folder. then menu / settings / wallpaper . After the wallpaper settings window opens click "picture" :

after that filer will open in the root folder , just select your picture :

After that you can pick if you want it stretched or centered , ect.... Then it will be added to the wallpaper list and you can pick it, Under advanced settings you can put it on all the desktops or just one then click apply.

Here is another cool e17 app : the edje-editor a visual editor for edj/edc files. You can use it on themes and backgrounds.

You need to install etk in opera061 to run this.

http://trac.enlightenment.org/e/wiki/EdjeEditor

I havent used it that much . I like to mod stuff manually .

If you like the silvery/neutral-toned background to complement verdegal's red theme, you can get it here: http://puppylinuxstuff.meownplanet.net/puppywallpapers/macpup061-russ3a.png It's a 1400x1050 image.

Screenie:

Screenshots showing it together with verdegal's theme are on previous page Wink

Hiya,

Macpup Opera continues to impress myself and those I show it too. It would be great if the red theme and cool grey backgrounds were included as default in the next release.

On a side note, I opten visit the 'pupplets' page on puppylinux.org to see what people are coming up with (this is where I originally found macpup). I noticed in the last couple of weeks, macpup061 has been disappearing and reappearing in that listing. It is probably some kind of bug, but at this point, there is no listing for 061, and macpup opera is almost off of the first page. It might be worth looking into so that more people can find this great distro that way.

I dont know what is going on with the puppylinux.org site ,Prit is looking into it.I may just re-post it if necessary .

I am going to include Verdegal's red theme and the backgrounds in the next macpup.I dont know if it will be the default cause we are working on other new backgrounds. Verdegal has a new dark theme that is really good. I also want to include the edje-editor and exhibit.

That's a really striking background....be great if he did a black/blue theme to complement it, like the Unity Linux one he did - that was awesome!

PostPosted: Mon 24 Aug 2009, 04:21    Post_subject: Help... I screwed up
Sub_title: Macpup Opera not showing window borders anymore

MacPup Opera is lovely. It's like an aristocratic pup Laughing .

There are so many settings... I am not sure what I did, but I ended up with no borders around windows meaning I can't move windows anymore, so they keep on piling up if they don't have a "close program" option in a particular application i.e. PuppyBrowser (my offline browser), Rox Filer, etc.

Also, the background is now pitch black, no more menus, no more ibar, just about useless now. I have a full install in it's own partition.

I relaunch enlightenment_start over and over: it's of no use.

Any ideas... someone... pleaaaase ! Lucky I still have Puppy 4.1.2 installed in a different partition.

That looks great, Runtt....i tend to agree with bpuppy's comment, that Macpup Opera is like an 'aristocratic pup'....the Macpup series are becoming more sleek and elegant all the time Very Happy

Bpuppy, heaven knows what you did - i wouldn't have a clue, Runtt might - but if you can back-up or rescue any data you've saved, you might be better off re-installing your barking aristocrat....times like this, aren't you glad it's not a Win O$ you're using?? Rolling Eyes Then, may i suggest you tread more carefully amongst all those tempting settings, instead of devouring them all at once in your excitement? Razz Wink Good luck, mate.

Smile
