How to install newer version of SeaMonkey?

#1 Post by vbdanl »

hi. just installed puppy 4.2 - very nice !!

seamonkey gave msg that newer version available to fix security threat.
installed new version over top of old version in same 1.1.15 dir in /usr/lib
Help / About Seamonkey still displays version 1.1.15
is this a bug ? should i just rename the dir ?

dir does show current timestamp from when i installed it..
drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 1024 2009-05-22 10:47 seamonkey-1.1.15

i installed using:
seamonkey-1.1.16.en-US.linux-i686.installer.tar.gz

also, does mrxvt still exist, or is there a newer replacement for rxvt that has tabs ?

Thanks for your help.

Look in the how-to's or do a search. There are several threads about upgrading seamonkey. It seems everyone has his own method.
